Ribfest Chicago 2015
After being selected and featured on the Food Network’s 2014 “Eating America, with Anthony Anderson” and televised to 100 million households and 150 countries, Ribfest Chicago returns with more smokin’ music and barbecue as we cook up Chicago’s favorite food and music festival. From humble beginnings, Ribfest grew to five city blocks and from 5,000 attendees to 70,000 fans (in 2014). The BBQ component has grown to thirty Chicagoland rib and non-rib vendors, while the quality of entertainment has made Ribfest an internationally-recognized music festival that hosts premier touring bands. But despite its impressive growth and success, the fest has maintained its neighborhood feel. More highlights include the celebrity-judged “Best Ribs” award and “RibMania,” the Midwest’s only professional rib-eating competition featuring top ranked eaters and sanctioned by IFOCE/Major League Eating. For more information visit www.Ribfest-Chicago.com. WHAT: It’s no wonder that Ribfest Chicago has been recognized as Chicago’s “Best Food Fest” for the past three years. This festival remains one of the city’s best summer attractions. As a nationally-recognized music festival, our twenty original bands are a hot blend of Indie, rock, roots and alt country. The 6th Annual RibMania hosts world ranked pro eaters at the Midwest’s only sanctioned rib-eating contest, and families can spend the weekend in Kids Square enjoying entertainment, inflatables, games and more. Ribfest Chicago has contributed $250,000 to more than fifteen Northcenter schools and nonprofits to improve education, assist special needs and fight hunger, in addition to funding chamber projects and annual programming. WHERE: 4000 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago WHEN: Friday, June 12, 2015 - 5 pm to 10 pm Saturday, June 13, 2015 - Noon to 10 pm Sunday, June 14, 2015 - Noon to 10 pm
Established in 2008, KOVAL produces organic whiskey, liqueurs and specialty spirits in Chicago's first distillery since the mid-1800s. Founders Robert and Sonat Birnecker, chose to leave their academic careers to bring the distilling traditions of Robert’s Austrian family to America. In making this decision, they vowed to make organic spirits from scratch (avoiding the common industry practice of purchasing and bottling pre-made spirits) and to change the way people understand whiskey by creating a new, signature style - using only the “heart” cut of the distillate - affording a brighter, cleaner take on whiskey.
Casual, care free dining, nearly world famous wings, sandwiches, seafood and salads all served by the famous Hooter Girls! Now with a full bar.
Making outstanding spirits and bottling them in a great-looking package wasn’t enough for CH Distillery. They figured you’d want to tour their distillery and learn a little about the science of making alcohol. But who wants just a tiny pour of a warm sample after the tour? So, they built a cocktail bar in their distillery. Where you can enjoy their spirits the right way – on the rocks, shaken and icy cold, or in a delicious, original CH cocktail. And because people get hungry when they drink, they hired acclaimed chefs to make great food and bar snacks that pair perfectly with their spirits. Have a bite before dinner, or make a meal from their menu. Either way, stay a while and enjoy Chicago’s only distillery cocktail bar!
In business at the same location since 1945, Nick's retains it's old fashioned charm while remaining an in-demand restaurant in the southwest Chicago suburbs. With a comfortable, welcoming environment, Nick's sits on Main Street in historic downtown Lemont. The old fashioned charm includes lots of Cubs memorabilia, an antique cash register, and bottles of Schlitz. There's a modern ATM since Nick's never has and still doesn't take credit card. The menu is small, and they are sure to let everyone know that they don't serve fries but people come to Nick's for one thing - the famous Nickburger. As you can see from the four star reviews on Yelp, the burger is as big as the plate it comes on an is adored by people from all over Illinois and beyond. Recently Nick's and its kind hearted owner Don Quaid, were featured on Chicago's Best.
