The original pioneer brick home has three bedrooms (two upstairs) and an old fashioned parlor with library, collectible curio cabinet, historic fireplace and mantle, and a queen size sofa sleeper. The sun porch also contains a breakfast bar with toaster and microwave for our guests. The master suite is on the main level in a 1903 addition to the original brick home. This large suite has a king size bed, full-size sofa sleeper, armoire, and 32” flat screen TV.

This one hour musical play tells the story of life in the early 1840s, as immigrants came up the Mississippi River to Nauvoo on the Maid of Iowa, a beautiful little paddle-wheeler. You’ll laugh at the antics of young Eli, thrill at the dancing and music, and feel the depth of devotion of these early settlers in Nauvoo as they face the martyrdom of their leader, and the violent and dangerous exodus from their homes in the middle of winter. Tickets are free but required for admission.
Montibello Morgan Horse Farm

Nauvoo Temple & Grounds
The Nauvoo Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was recently rebuilt in Nauvoo, one of the early settlements of the Mormon people. The structure is 150 feet tall and overlooks the Mississippi River. The temple was reconstructed on the site of the original temple which was built from 1841-1846, but later destroyed by arson after the Mormons left Nauvoo. Sacred ordinances are performed daily in the Nauvoo Temple, therefore the building is not available for tourist visits. The beautiful gardens and grounds are open to the public, located just north of the temple. The temple Information Cernter presents a free 14-minute virtual tour.
Charles Hales Home
The Charles Hales Home is a historic Mormon pioneer home with modern amenities in the Hyrum Kimball Village, perfect for your family vacation to Nauvoo. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a king bed, and a large king bedroom across the hall. Also on the first floor is a full kitchen, dining room, great room/family room and a full bathroom. This floor has a vaulted ceiling above the great room and dining room area with a grand staircase to the second floor loft (with queen size sofa sleeper). The back of the home is open and airy with two story windows that bathe the home with light. The second floor has two king bedrooms and one queen bedroom. In the hall are two full bathrooms with sinks in a vanity. The basement has a full laundry room with washer and dryer.
Deseret Heritage Manor
Deseret Heritage Manor is a 5 bedroom, 6 bath vacation home conveniently located in the quiet neighborhood of the Hyrum Kimball Village. It will sleep 20 comfortably. It also has a crib for the little ones. It has access to a picnic pavilion (available for day rental) which makes is doubly desirable for reunions & family gatherings. There is a old wagon bench off of the back porch so you can “sit a spell” and watch the fireflies or just enjoy the sounds of Nauvoo. This home has a very spacious living & dining area with a large table & plenty of room for all. The main floor has 2 bedrooms, a king bed suite with a walk in closet and bathroom and a large bedroom with 2 queen beds & huge closet. The basement has a game room complete with foosball table, air hockey table, big screen TV with DVD player & a futon for lounging. A sleeping area with 4 twin beds and a bathroom with a walk in shower complete the basement living space. The laundry room is complete with washer and dryer for guest use. The home is a geo thermal heating & cooling system and ceiling fans in all bedrooms for your comfort summer & winter. There is ample off street parking for 6 vehicles.

This old European-style home is the first “story book” home built in this new development. The complete home is three stories, but there is a lock off available on the first floor (Troubadour's Quarters), allowing that unit to be rented separately, or with the main home on the second and third floors (Crown Court Suite). The Troubadour's Quarters contains a great room with full kitchen, dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave and table for six. The great room has a queen-size sofa sleeper, gas burning fireplace, and flat screen TV. A bedroom has three built-in bunk beds, and there is a full bath with tub/shower combination! This level sleeps up to 8 and can be rented separately, or with the rest of the home. Since the home is built on a hillside overlooking the Mississippi River, the massive front door is located on the second level, opening up into a large living room with fireplace and flat screen TV, and beautiful view of the river. This living room contains two queen size sofa sleepers. The full kitchen has Amish built cabinets, granite counter-tops seating four at the bar and with a table for six in the round turret. The full bath on this floor has a corner shower. The third level is the master suite which is perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary occasion! The view of the Mississippi from this room is spectacular! It also has a desk, gas log fireplace, flat screen TV, King size bed, queen size sofa sleeper, and another bedroom with queen size bed. The Hopper House in Nauvoo is just four blocks from the Nauvoo Temple! This cute cottage is the perfect “Grandma’s House” and has central heat and air conditioning. The living room has a queen size sofa sleeper, recliner and entertainment center with cable TV/DVD & VCR, and LDS videos and books. The two bedrooms each have queen size beds, there is a full size sofa sleeper in the dining room, and there are two cots and sleeping bags available for kids, if needed, sleeping 8-10 people, depending on age. The bathrooms have been recently remodeled with a vanity and shower/tub combination upstairs and a vanity and shower downstairs. Includes a large dining room with a table for six, and in 2006 a full kitchen remodel with gas range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and all utensils and dishware for twelve. LDS art and historical Nauvoo pictures throughout the house. All the linens and towels are provided, plus on the back porch is a washer and dryer for the convenience of guests. Great location, with a front porch and nice yard, close to groceries, shopping, restaurants and the temple!
Hyrum Smith Farm
The Hyrum Smith Farm is perfect for extended family get-togethers! This historic farm is just one mile from the temple and sleeps up to twenty comfortably. A complete remodel was finished in May 2008 and the home was made ready for families to enjoy beginning June 2008. The original pioneer brick home is 16 x 24 and is used as a dormitory with four bunk beds. The two story brick addition added in 1850 contains two master bedrooms upstairs with king beds, and two bedrooms downstairs with queen beds, plus a parlor with a queen size sofa sleeper. A later addition to the home has a family room with another sofa sleeper, TV/DVD and full bath and laundry. Adjacent to the family room is a full kitchen with all the appliances and kitchenware needed for all the guests in the home. Another addition to the north side has another bedroom with queen size bed, and a large game room and full bathroom. Remodeling included new paint, carpeting and furnishings throughout this home plus the addition of two more bathrooms for convenience and central heat and air for comfort! All utensils, dishware, linens, and towels are provided. A washer & dryer are also provided for guest use. High speed internet is available as well.
James Myler Manor
Ground floor accommodations include a master bedroom/bath suite featuring a king size bed and a double queen room across the hall. A basic equipped kitchen, dining room, bath and a two story great room with a large screen TV complete the first floor. The back of the home is open and airy with two story windows that give you a beautiful view of the common area. Home Wine Maker’s Contest
Baxter's Vineyards & Winery will host its 21th Annual Home Wine Making Competition Awards Celebration on June 27, 2015 at Baxter's Vineyards & Winery in Nauvoo, Illinois. Non-commercial wine makers are invited to enter their best wines into this competition, which is split into five distinct categories: (1) red grape (2) white grape (3) blends (4) fruit wines and (5) other. The deadline to enter wines is Thursday, June 25, 2015. The wines will be judge in a closed, blind judging that will be held on June 26, 2015. The public is welcome to visit baxter's Vineyards on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Entry forms, along with rules of the competition are posted at www.nauvoowinery.com.
