Steam Shovel Coffee is a local business that was launched in 2011 and opened doors in 2012 out of Anna, Illinois. "Fresh roasted coffee beans to you." Randy Miller, owner and creator of the local business, was a painter by trade before getting into coffee. He was intrigued by coffee beans and how different regions and types of beans affect the outcome of the coffee. Steam Shovel Coffee uses fair trade Arabica coffee beans that are roasted in a hot air roaster with temperatures reaching 465 degrees. Miller's goal is to become a regional roaster in Southern Illinois. He wants Steam Shovel Coffee to be a good, smooth cup of coffee.
