Visitors of all ages have lots to do and see at this free family-friendly event. Kids can go through the hay maze, pick pumpkins or pet the new calves in the calf barn! There will be several artisan cheeses and other treats available for purchase.
Join in the fun from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturday October 8th for the 10th annual car cruise-in with great classic cars, food, music, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. The event is co-sponsored by the Railsplitter Antique Auto Club. Vehicle registration suggested donation is $5. A fund raiser for The Mill restoration project. The Railsplitter Antique Auto Club has hosted the event all ten years and has raised over $2500 for the Mill from this annual event.
Come on out and witness an exciting seminar about dog sledding and the Siberian Husky while enjoying exciting sled demos. There will be huskies for you to meet and greet as well as the Husky Boutique and information about the rescue. Admission is free and event is open to the public. Sled demo times are 9:30am,12pm, and 3pm and are located at the Southwest end of the Starved Rock State Park Visitor's Center Parking Lot. Seminar times are 10:30am and 1:30pm and will be in the LaSalle Room in Starved Rock Lodge.

The annual Halloween Egg Hunt is a twist on an old tradition! Wear your costume, bring your flashlight, a container for eggs, and at 7:00pm, hunt in the darkness for candy-filled eggs! Kids enjoy Halloween Fun at the historic Lyon Farm the last two Sundays in October. They can Trick-or-Treat in the historic Lyon Farm Village, participate in a costume parade around the square, earn prizes awarded for best costume, play old-fashioned games, take hay rides, and get spooked in the Haunted house! At the 39 acre Lyon Farm, you can enjoy historic buildings such as the Oswego-Fox House, Union School one-room schoolhouse, the Seward Town Hall, Corrigan’s General Store, the 1850 Plano CB&Q railroad depot, a CB&Q caboose, a blacksmith shop and several large buildings containing displays of household, farming and commercial artifacts and archival records.
