The 38th Annual Alpine Races
Presented by the Alpine Runners, this is a 1/2 Marathon, 5K Run/Walk, Youth Mile, and also offers kid's races. Something for all runners and the whole family. The races run through the streets and along the shores of beautiful Paulus Park in Lake Zurich. Gatorade, water, and time splits will be available along the course. Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival
The Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival will be presenting its 2015 festival from July 24 – 31 at AMC Randhurst 12 in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The festival regularly exhibits over 30 films from around the globe that compete for a variety of awards that range in genre, production, performance and audience categories. Each film selected for exhibition and competition is screened in one theater over the course of eight days. Judges experience each film for the first time along with the audience.

Ellen King is the co-owner and head baker at Hewn. She is a classically trained chef and has worked in various restaurants in Seattle with a specialty in French, Mediterranean and Vegetarian foods. Each day our bakers mix the dough by hand, turning it every 30 minutes over a four hour period. The dough is then shaped and placed into bannetons, where it rests overnight to rise naturally. The results are delicious.
