Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival
The Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival will be presenting its 2015 festival from July 24 – 31 at AMC Randhurst 12 in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The festival regularly exhibits over 30 films from around the globe that compete for a variety of awards that range in genre, production, performance and audience categories. Each film selected for exhibition and competition is screened in one theater over the course of eight days. Judges experience each film for the first time along with the audience.
The 38th Annual Alpine Races
Presented by the Alpine Runners, this is a 1/2 Marathon, 5K Run/Walk, Youth Mile, and also offers kid's races. Something for all runners and the whole family. The races run through the streets and along the shores of beautiful Paulus Park in Lake Zurich. Gatorade, water, and time splits will be available along the course. Food and drinks will be available to participants at the finish line. No dogs, strollers, bikes, rollerblades or headphones are allowed in the races please.

We are excited to offer tours each month on the 2nd Saturday at 1 PM.
Ellen King is the co-owner and head baker at Hewn. She is a classically trained chef and has worked in various restaurants in Seattle with a specialty in French, Mediterranean and Vegetarian foods. Each day our bakers mix the dough by hand, turning it every 30 minutes over a four hour period. The dough is then shaped and placed into bannetons, where it rests overnight to rise naturally. The results are delicious.
Half Day Brewery Co
The feel is casual, comfortable yet energetic and an inviting, exciting and sophisticated atmosphere. The menu features artesian hand tossed Pizza made in a wood fired oven with a very thin crust and exceptional flavor profiles, house made chips, Dutch oven steamed mussels, truffle deviled eggs, proprietary ground beef blend hand patty burgers, Braised Beef of the Day and baked pasta dishes. The Brew-House will produce up to 12 different brews to be served, from Lagers to IPA’s, to Stout’s and seasonal, and even some small batch wood barrel aged specialty beers. The Brew Master will also create craft sodas, do brewery tours and walk throughout the facility and let guests sample our craft brews, and be educated on the Half Day Brewing experience.

Historic LaSalle Street Auto Show
Historic LaSalle Street (Aurora) comes alive with classic cars. The block of LaSalle Street between Downer Place and Benton Street is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Cars were first sold and serviced in Aurora on LaSalle Street in 1907. LaSalle Street was fondly called "LaSalle Street Auto Row". Food vendors, games, prizes and cars! 9 am - 3 pm

Day at Dickson-Murst Farm
Visitors to Day at the Farm will see how the oats are removed from the chaff and straw with an antique threshing machine/separator. Kids can pet farm animals, play on a pedal tractor pull, and enjoy pony rides! Bossie the “milk her yourself’ cow will be there as well as the corn box. But there’s more! Antique cars and tractors, tractor-pulled hayrides, and food from the Country Kitchen. All this with live bluegrass music in the air. C’mon out! Aurora's Zagster Bike-Share Program
The City of Aurora and Zagster, Inc. launched a new bike-share program that will provide Aurora visitors with a convenient, affordable and healthy way to get around town. 18 cruiser bikes are available at three downtown stations for riders to use for on-demand, local trips. Stations are located at RiverEdge Park - 360 Broadway Ave., Aurora City Hall - 44 E. Downer Place and Santori Public Library of Aurora - 101 S. River Street. This initiative creates new opportunities for visitors to experience the Aurora Area from a different vantage point and see it in a whole new light.

From the infinite treasury of Ireland's cultural heritage comes Tomáseen Foley's A Celtic Christmas - a recreation of a night before Christmas in a remote farmhouse in the west of Ireland in the 1940s. Neighbors gather around the fireside for a night of traditional Irish music, song, dance and storytelling from native Irish storyteller, Tomáseen Foley. There is magic in the air when the neighbors knock sparks off the flagstone floors with their dancing and the rafters sing with fiery traditional music. Alley Art Festival
This free, family-friendly event celebrates the Aurora community and its burgeoning arts and cultural scene. The art festival turns Water Street Mall, the brick alleyway between Downer Place and Galena Boulevard, into a vibrant city center featuring more than sixty local artists, crafters, and artisans. Free music on the lawn, a creative children’s booth, delicious food, and so much more is offered to create a fun and exciting day for everyone.This outdoor, grassroots art festival is from noon to 5 p.m. on the last Saturday in August.
