Starved Rock State Park West Hike
Starved Rock State Park West Hike offers a decidedly different set of attractions than its eastern counterpart. On this hike you’ll encounter a series of overlooks from wooded bluffs and rocky cliffs high above the Illinois River. This 2.9-mile hike varies in difficulty due to the large amount of stairs that need climbing. The dominant feature of Starved Rock can be found on this hike, via a narrow bluff that runs 4-miles along the south branch of the Illinois River. The park’s namesake towers 125 feet above the river, offering commanding views of the nearby islands and river. Some notable excursions include, French Canyon, Wildcat Canyon and Pontiac Canyon with sweeping views of the Illinois River.

This trail links the Half Day Forest Preserve to the Wright Woods Forest Preserve spanning nearly the entire length of Lake County.

Located in Read Park, this skate park offers 11,000 square feet of skateboard heaven with obstacles, ramps, rails, ledges, spines and bowls. The Illinois Prairie Path was the first successful "rail-to-trail" conversion in the United States and inspired a national rail-to-trail movement in the United States in the mid-1960s. The trail is named for its rare segments of original, thousand year-old prairies. With 62 miles of biking, hiking, jogging, equestrian, and nature trails, this is an amazing natural resource that encompasses 4 towns: Elgin, Aurora, Batavia and Geneva and 3 counties. The surface is both asphalt and crushed stone.
Chicago Botanic Garden Loop
The Chicago Botanic Garden Loop offers a moderate level of difficulty to those wanting to experience quiet beauty in far north Cook County. The 385-acre garden is home to 2.4 million plants and is one of the most visited gardens in the country. Hiking will take you 4.5 hours and with almost 7 miles of trails, mostly paved you will get to experience both the lagoons and the Botanic Garden.

NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament
Danville Area Community College and the City of Danville will again host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Men’s National Basketball Tournament at the DACC campus March 18-22, 2014. This year marks the 21st year that Danville has hosted the tournament and the 29th year of the tournament.

16th Annual Ebertfest

18th Annual Art in the Park
The 18th Annual Art in the Park is a juried show of fine art, craft, and design. The show features over 100 artists from the Midwest displaying works of ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, and more. Food vendors will be on site selling delicious snacks and treats. Elmhurst Art Museum will be open 10-5 both days of the show with free admission and will sponsor children's activities. Wilder Mansion will be open from open 11-2.
Arsenic and Old Lace
The Stage Coach Players present "Arsenic and Old Lace", the story of the eccentric Brewster family of Brooklyn, N.Y. In addition to the scheming old women who poison their victims with elderberry wine, the family includes Teddy, who suffers delusions that he is Theodore Roosevelt and that the Panama Canal runs through the cellar of his home. The locks he digs become convenient graves for the lonely men who fall victims to Aunt Martha and Aunt Abby's machinations. When their nephew Mortimer discovers a body under the window seat of his aunt's home, however, the elderly women fess up to their deeds matter-of-factually and the events become more absurd right up to the surprise ending.
