Civic Opera House
The world-renowned Lyric Opera of Chicago performs in one of North America's most beautiful opera houses, the Civic Opera House. The decorative character of the entire building is a hybrid of Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. Comedy-tragedy masks and cornucopia of instruments abound as playful ornaments around entrances, inspired by the Paris Opera House designed by Jean-Louis-Charles Garnier. The famous painted fire curtain (depicting the parade scene from Aida) and the interior decoration details of the Civic Opera House were created by American artist Jules Guerin in a palette of salmon pinks, roses, olives, golds and bronzes.

The Sandwich Fair (DeKalb County Fair) is the oldest continuing fair in the State of Illinois. Two Brothers Summer Festival
The Two Brothers Summer Festival is a growing, weekend long music, food and beer festival focused on charity and community. The idea stems from the ideologies of the Ebel brothers, owners of the Two Brothers Brewing Company. Two Brothers Summer Festival was created to raise money and awareness for a growing list of charities, as well as give back to the local and regional community. Two Brothers Brewing Company is proud to have granted several wishes via the Make-A-Wish Foundation and helped a number of other children’s charities in its 18 years. Southern Illinois Music Festival

Singin' in The Rain is based on the 1952 American musical comedy film. Chicago Symphony Orchestra's American Premiere of Marsalis Concerto at Ravinia
Ravinia kicks off the 80th residency of the CSO with the American premiere of Marsalis's first concerto for solo instrument, co-commissioned by Ravinia. Nicola Benedetti, the violinist it was written for, plays it with the CSO. The program also features Respighi's Fountains of Rome as part of a season-long celebration of water-themed music to open the new water sculpture, Chorus, at the grand entrance.
Arts in the Park - Danville
