Country Lights Soy Candles started making candles as a hobby in 1999. At first, the candles were a soy/petroleum mix. After some experimenting, we were happy to go to a 100% soy candle. It did not take long for us to realize that soy candles were becoming very popular. Our "factory" is located on our family's Centennial Farm in north central Illinois. All of the candles are hand poured by family members.

A free self-guided tour of more than a dozen diversified family farms. Each location will have different events going on, but the stroll will allow participants to meet local farmers, get farm tours and demonstrations, sampling of fresh local products, and more. There is no starting location for the stroll, guests are welcome to visit as many or as few as they would like and in whatever order they would like. A four-floor large museum located in a former stone mill, including items from the area and a room dedicated to Native America artifacts. Built in 1856, the Stone Mill was originally used to produce flour. In 1965, the building was deeded to the Sandwich Historical Society. The building itself is a museum exhibit which includes the original beams and support posts made of 125 year old timber. The historical society first opened the museum to the public in 1969 and now includes three floors of exhibits. Among the exhibits are fire fighting equipment, antique car, furniture, signage, photos and many other items from the area's past. The museum is open every Sunday, 1-4pm during warm months (April to October).
Larson's Family Farm
Visit the Larson Family Farm for some old fashioned country fun. In the fall, the farm offers pumpkins and gourds, hay rack rides and fall home decor. Come to the farm to cut your own Christmas tree. The venue is available for special event rentals. They offer evening bonfires on fall weekends and host school groups during weekdays.

Shabbona Lake State Park Campground
Shabbona Lake State Park Campground is a semi-wooded area with 150 Class A sites with electricity, showers, vehicular access, boat launch, playground, kid's fishing area, and The Camp Store. Bring your own poles or use The Camp Store's loaner fishing poles! We also have paddle boats that you may rent to enjoy a scenic view of Shabbona Lake. Each campsite has a gravel parking space, picnic table, and a campfire ring. Shabbona Lake State Park has two cabins available for rent. The cabin consists of two rooms that total approx. 200 square feet. Cabins are located near the shore of the lake and are fairly secluded.
