Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Have you ever had a really rotten day? Alexander has.. Laugh and sing along with this hilarious musical adaptation of Judith Viorst's classic children's book, presented by Two Beans Productions, and discover along with Alexander that sometimes, every one of us has a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. The show is about an hour long and is great for children from kindergarten to third grade. It covers arts, literature-based, music, relationships and family which is a great learning experience for children. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and this show will start at 10 a.m.
The Church Basement Ladies in The Last Potluck Supper
The Last Potluck Supper is the fifth and last installment in the popular comedy series The Church Basement Ladies, based on the books by Janet Letnes Martin and Suzann Nelson. The ladies meet in the kitchen to prepare for the church's Centennial Celebration and, through a series of flashbacks, share memories of the last 100 years. Though times are tough in the community, through the grace, hilarity and antics of their stories, the ladies manage to get through it all with a laugh!! Please note that there will be two different times the show will be performed. The first performance will be at 2 p.m. with doors opening at 1 p.m. And the second performance will be at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
Funfest for Air-Cooled VW
FunFest for Air-Cooled VW's is MidAmerica Motorworks way of saying "Thank You" to all VW enthusiasts. The three day event is the best Air-Cooled enthusiasts party anywhere. Expect to see more than 1,000 VW's and 8, 000 enthusiasts. Enjoy seminars, races, vendors and more! And don't forget about the concert on Saturday night! It's sure to be a fun event! Stop by our Effingham Tourism tent at the MAM grounds for a free souvenir picture!
Effingham Artisan Fair
Downtown is transformed into an art gallery with works from over 40 artists, on display for purchase. Artwork for sale includes oil paintings, pottery, jewelry, and sculptures. Several artists will demonstrate their craft at the event. As part of the event, the Artisan Fair features wine and beer tasting. There will be approximately ten regional wineries and several different craft beers available for tasting. This event will open from 12 – 5 p.m. Other activities include the 5K Run and Walk, Kids Korner, sidewalk chalk art, “Can Do Art,” food fair (including Gabby Goat, IGA, Sausage Haus, Doris Yoder's Kitchen, The Cookie Jar and Tropical Sno) and live musical entertainment at the gazebo. The Historic Court House Museum will be open for tours.
Moccasin Creek Festival
Moccasin Creek Festival is an annual 3-day music festival, which typically celebrates other arts and crafts as well. It takes place at beautiful Lake Sara in Summit Township, just west of Effingham, Illinois. The founder of Moccasin Creek Festival is Bill (Poss) Passalacqua, an Effingham native who has built his life around writing, performing and promoting music. Folk, bluegrass, alternative country, roots rock, and blues - "Americana" music. This is what MCF is all about - in an outdoor setting, using a venue with great acoustics, at a beautiful time of year.
Big Earl's Extreme Race
Big Earl's Extreme Race is a 3+ mile obstacle run in Effingham. There are seven different wave times with over 15 obstacles and all participants will recieve a free hot dog and beer or soda.

Kansas City BBQ State Championship
Legacy's Kansas City BBQ Championship is back! Be sure to bring out the family and bring along friends for some good ol' BBQ! For a change of scenery, this event will be held in downtown Effingham on Friday night.
Sprint : 1/4 mile swim, 13 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. Out and back on the bike and run. A few rolling hills on the bike, but the run is completely flat.
