Take part in the Kid'Cation Confluence Tower Scavenger Hunt July 29 through Aug. 7 and earn fun prizes! All children who tour the Tower can participate. Tour guides will provide a special Scavenger Hunt activity sheet and give clues throughout the tour. At the end of the tour, children will receive a special gift. Try your hand at the Litchfield TriathLou at Lake Lou Yaeger. Swimming in Lake Lou Yaeger is the best open water swim you will have in the Midwest. There really is no comparison to this large beach with pristine flat racing water. The bike course is flat and fast with some great curves to keep you entertained the whole ride. Both the 5k and 10k runs see very honest mile paces with plenty of flats, and a couple hills throughout. Sprint and Olympic distances are available.
Route 66 Half Marathon, 5K, Mile Dash
Run down Historic Route 66 in this race down memory lane. On this flat course, you will have the opportunity to set a personal best. Plus, its filled with some of the oldest landmarks on Historic Route 66.
RC Jet Rally

Chairs on Parade
Chairs on Parade is an event where Carlinville businesses purchases a chair and decorates it to their liking. The event is all about bringing old fashioned fun, family and shopping together while supporting the local business community. The chairs will be on display outside of the businesses beginning on Saturday, August 6th. Part of the event includes the first ever Carlinville Restaurant Week from Monday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 28th, celebrating local food establishments and retail stores. The highlight of that week will occur on Friday, August 26th with a flotilla parade and afterwards an auction for chairs that are donated back to Shop Local First. The profit from the chairs will go to the local food bank. The night will also include Mid-West Largest Squirt Gun fight, and a street party with Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters rock band.
Lewis & Clark Frontier Dog Walk
This event will center on walking your dogs on a two mile course. There will be dog trainers, groomers, and dog adoptions from local societies. At 1:00 p.m. a guest speaker will be hosted within the Interpretive Center's theater. The event is only on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Dogs will only be allowed in the theater between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Dogs may be walked through and around Camp River Dubois. Frozen at the Tower
It may be hot this summer, but the Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower is celebrating all things "Frozen" on Saturday, Aug. 6. Anna and Elsa from the movie "Frozen" will be on the upper two levels of the Tower for a meet and greet event and photos with their fans. Free Frozen souvenir balloon art from Jay "The Balloon Dude". Tower admission is $1 for children and $2 for adults.
