Greenwich Village Art Fair - Rockford Art Museum
Established in 1948, Rockford Art Museum's Greenwich Village Art Fair is one of the oldest continuous art fairs in the area and combines juried artists with family-friendly children's activities, live music, food and an atmosphere that brings the community together in a vibrant and art-filled setting. More than 100 artists are juried into the show by in categories of 3-D Functional, 3-D Non-functional, 2-D Medium, Jewelry, Photography, and Painting.
The Gallery House, built in the early 1900’s, is now a fabulous family retreat, nestled in the heart of Nauvoo, allowing you to leisurely walk the historic and quaint shops down Mulholland Street, on your way to the temple. Grab a frisbee or football from the closet and enjoy an evening outdoors on the beautiful lawn and under the welcoming shade trees around the home. The Gallery House is one of only a handful of vacation homes available right on Mulholland Street, the main street of Nauvoo, and just four blocks from the Nauvoo Temple! This delightful cottage was once considered for a local art gallery and is now tastefully decorated with giclee’s and prints of the LDS Nauvoo Era. There are scenes done locally by artists you won’t see anywhere else. With LDS videos and books, games and toys, your family will enjoy a relaxing and memorable Nauvoo experience.
James Myler Manor
Ground floor accommodations include a master bedroom/bath suite featuring a king size bed and a double queen room across the hall. A basic equipped kitchen, dining room, bath and a two story great room with a large screen TV complete the first floor. The back of the home is open and airy with two story windows that give you a beautiful view of the common area. Upstairs, there is a loft with seating and a secretary's desk, two more baths and three bedrooms, including a duplicate of the master suite on the first floor, a single queen bedroom and a large queen bedroom with four singles in two bunk beds. Each bedroom has a large closet and is furnished with a large dresser. In the basement there are laundry facilities, another bathroom and four twin beds. Constructed in 2006, the floor plan is 2,690 square feet and sleeps sixteen to twenty guests. The home has five bedrooms and six full bathrooms between the three levels. The two story great room with living area, dining area and large windows provide an excellent view of the Hyrum Kimball Village Pavilion and recreation area. The home is fully furnished and tastefully decorated.

Capital City Century Cycling
The Capital City Century (CCC) is one of the oldest cycling events in central Illinois, attracting hundreds of riders from multiple states. The CCC is a recreational ride (not a race!) for riders of all ages and ability levels. Riders have distance options of 10 to 100 miles over flat to slightly rolling terrain. A special double metric (125 mile) Challenge option is also offered.

World's Largest Knitting Needles and Crochet Hook
The World's Largest Knitting Needles and Crochet Hook are located inside The Yarn Studio in downtown Casey, Illinois. In order to make it in to the Guinness Book of World Records shop owner, Jeanette Huisinga, had to knit and crochet a 10X10 square with the largest tools. Knitting Needles are 13ft .75in and 25 pounds each. Crochet Hook measures at 6ft. 1.5in and weight is 9lbs.

There is a bathroom with shower with handicap access located on the main floor. There are three bedrooms on the second floor, a queen size bed with a closet, a king bed suite with walk in closet and bathroom and a family bedroom with a queen size bed and two sets of bunk beds (this bedroom will sleep 6). There are 2 bathrooms with tub/shower combo and double sinks off the hall. There is also a loft with a sitting area with a couch, chair & writing desk. The basement has a game room complete with foosball table, air hockey table, big screen TV with DVD player & a futon for lounging. A sleeping area with 4 twin beds and a bathroom with a walk in shower complete the basement living space. The laundry room is complete with washer and dryer for guest use. The home is a geo thermal heating & cooling system and ceiling fans in all bedrooms for your comfort summer & winter. There is ample off street parking for 6 vehicles.

44th Annual Christmas Crossroads Craft Show
Christmas Crossroads, presented by the Lockport Woman's Club, has been a crowd pleaser since its inception in 1971. Featured this year will be 185-190 artisans and craftsmen from a 6 state area, selling such items as Christmas wreaths, centerpieces, ornaments, dolls and doll clothes. Also highlighted are hand painted glass and windows, bath salts and soaps, purses, plus quilted and sewn creations, dog/cat items, music boxes, jewelry, pottery, candles, garden art, and photographs. Also included are children's and women's clothing, a variety of Christmas angels and snowmen, herbal vinegar's and oils, dips, floral, furniture, American Girl/Bitty Baby accessories and wooden and country crafts. Local organizations participating include Trinity, Lockport Boy Scout Troop 63, Lockport Lion's Club, St. John Episcopal Church and Hospice. All proceeds from the show are used for collegiate, vocational and summer camp scholarships. Light Up the Holidays Parade and Festival
Light Up the Holidays Parade and Festival is held on the Friday following Thanksgiving each year. Activities begin at 10:00am and include the Renaissance Center Fun Fair, activities in the Joliet Historical Museum, Joliet Public Library, Gji's Sweet Shoppe, Jitters Coffeehouse, Chicken-N-Spice, The Red Goose Bakery and more. The Annual Festival of Trees held yearly inside the Rialto Square Theatre also add to the holiday festivities. Tree Lighting begins at 5:15pm in Van Buren Plaza Followed by the Light Up the Holidays Parade at 5:30pm.

The run is a 5.7 mile trail run (and 2 mile untimed walk) held on the estate of Robert Allerton Park in Monticello, IL. The time of year, Allerton is beautiful as the trail is through fall-colored forests and past the unique gardens and statuary of Allerton Park.

Every fall, the Pike County Color Drive provides an opportunity for anyone with an interest to do so to see the beauty of rural Pike County bathed in the splendor of autumn. Each community provides a unique roster of events, activities, vendors, crafts, food, and exhibits for the general public to take part in.
Carbondale Rocks Revival
The Carbondale Rocks Revival will celebrate its fourth year by bringing over 40 bands to the Carbondale area. Like the city of Carbondale itself, the musicians and artists who make up the local music scene sometimes can seem like an unassuming entity of creativity and independence. The festival will rotate between several unique venues including the Cellar, Hangar 9, PK’s, The Varsity Center for the Arts, and many more.
31st Annual Harvest of Talents
On the 4th Saturday of October, HARVEST DAY begins with doors opening promptly at 7 a.m. at Lincoln Christian Church, in Lincoln, IL, with homemade cinnamon and pecan rolls. Carry-outs available. Freshly made vegetable soup cooked in outdoor kettles, homemade pie & bread, lots of tasty snacks and beverages in outdoor tent booths, and handmade items of all kinds (for pets, gardens, Christmas, home decor, shabby chic, quilted, babies, baked goods, jams/jellies, fresh produce, gift baskets, etc.) are sold 7 a.m. til 1 p.m. or til the exciting live auction begins at 2 p.m. There’s something for everyone, inc. live entertainment, souvenir photo booth, hand-lettered pressed-flower bookmarks, craft projects & mission classes for children, silent auctions, Harvest logo wear & souvenirs, monitored coat check room, I.D.E.S. information table, and Harvest Ministry Welcome area. A highlight is the live auction in the afternoon of many unique items, such as original design hand sewn quilts, handcrafted furniture, fine needlework, framed photography and artwork, jewelry, pottery, items from the mission field, refurbished antiques, re-purposed items, and other treasures.

See pumpkins weighing over 500 pounds. Most are for sale, so–give yourself the ultimate challenge and wrestle a giant out in our 20-acre pumpkin patch–or just point at one that’s been pre-picked at the farmstand. We’ll help with the wrestling, weighing and toting. Fall fun park, hayrack rides, corn cannons, our famous “Cow Train” barrel train, “Mining for Gems” ,bounce house, and Kids’ Corn Maze. Columbus Day Weekend Fall Colors Kayak Tour & Beach Campout
Camp out on the wooded, sandy beaches of the Illinois River. A potluck dinner on the beach, will be followed by a movie, via a pico projector, under the stars. There will be campfires on the beach to enjoy! This event is perfect for the first time camper! A full hot breakfast will be served in the morning before setting out on a guided kayak tour for approx. 2 hours. This trip will explore either the Mazon River or the Illinois River and the wildlife along the way!
Starved Rock Lodge's Outdoor Woman Workshop
Trade your to-do list for a weekend for yourself and friends. Ever wanted to pull back a bow and shoot an arrow? How about learning the proper way to saddle a horse? This is a day filled with fun where women from all over will gather and learn nontraditional skills in a relaxed environment. Starved Rock Lodge and the National Wild Turkey Federation bring classes to this workshop, such as shooting. 5 workshops, 2 meals and snacks are included in both days events. The only class that will be offered on Friday is shooting and Friday is not sold alone. Call to reserve a spot! Participation in only Saturday's workshops is $65 and both days is $92 per person.

This 7,000 lb, 15 ft, 8-sided section of a communnications tower that supported a television broadcasting antenna and a 5lb, 1 ft piece of the antenna were located on World Trade Center Tower One when it was attacked on September 11, 2001. The antenna was designed and manufactured by Harris Corporation at its Quincy plant.

Boggio's Pumpkin Harvest Craft Show features new crafts from over 130 crafters. The bakery sells delicious cider donuts, award-winning apple cider, fudge, canned jellies honey and fresh vegetables picked daily.
