Cavatina Duo and Avalon String Quartet at Ravinia
Since winning a competition in the Netherlands in 1996, the Cavatina Duo has captivated hundreds of audiences with electrifying performances in over 20 countries across North America, Europe and Asia. The duo's repertoire includes music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and contemporary periods. A high point of their concerts is pieces inspired by the folk music of their native lands.
Women’s Works is a juried fine art exhibit, celebrating women artists and is presented annually by the Northwest Area Arts Council and the Old Court House Arts Center. Held in the Old Court House Arts Center on the Historic Woodstock Square, Women’s Works provides an opportunity to showcase the creative artwork of women artists in North America and internationally. This is the 29th Anniversary of the Women's Works show.
Four Rivers Art Fair
Explore the history and culture of the area and Pere Marquette State Park at this special art exhibition. Peruse and purchase original works from local artists, enjoy live music, wine tasting and restaurant favorites. There will be no booth fee for participating artists with a $200 cash prize being awarded the Best in Show. Arcadia at Writers Theatre
In the heart of a 19th century English country estate awash in secret desires, illicit affairs and professional rivalries, a brilliant young student proposes an earthshaking scientific theory. Skokie Festival of Cultures
Since its inception in 1991, the Skokie Festival of Cultures has become one of the premier ethnic festivals in Illinois, attracting more than 450,000 visitors and dozens of cultures, all representing Skokie's tremendous diversity. Attendees will take their free 'Tour of the World,' enjoying two days of ethnic folk music and dance, a wide range of food, unique arts and crafts, beer tasting, a merchandise bazaar, and dozens of cultural booths and displays.
Mushroom Festival at Pere Marquette
It's back! The Mushroom Festival is returning to Pere Marquette Lodge and will be bigger than ever before. Come listen to live music, browse vendors, grab lunch in the restaurant, taste local wines and learn all there is to know about mushrooms. The Great Morel Hunt will be held at 1:00 p.m. (weather and morel permitting). Join fellow hunters from all over the areas as they scan the grounds for these delicious delicacies. Then bring your finds back to The Lodge and you can win a great prize! Find the smallest morel, the largest morel or the most morels and you just might go home with a free nights stay. Festival is from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

51st Annual Midsommarfest
Midsommarfest is Andersonville’s annual summer street festival, celebrating its 51st year in 2016! Nearly 50,000 people throng Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa for two days and three nights of music, dancing, kids’ entertainment, and delicious food. Vendors from around the region sell their wares to passers-by, local shops and restaurants welcome the warm season with specials and sales, and dance troupes, Djs, and cutting-edge plus longtime favorite bands keep the party going.
