Explore the power of play at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago’s new temporary exhibition, Brick by Brick, opening March 10. Brick by Brick features a spectacular collection of more than a dozen LEGO®-built structures of engineering marvels, including a 60-foot-long Golden Gate Bridge, the International Space Station, St. Louis Gateway Arch, Hoover Dam, Roman Colosseum, the Burj Khalifa and more. These models are constructed by LEGO Certified Professional and Chicago native, Adam Reed Tucker. Guests will also experience hands-on building challenges that reinforce key principles of engineering, construction and architecture—and encourage creativity. Throughout the exhibit, guests learn how architects and engineers push the limits of design, materials and location to make the seemingly impossible, possible; witness how form follows function; and learn how building beautifully uplifts us all.
The Graham Foundation, one of the Biennial’s presenting partners, will participate by hosting an exhibition and public programs at the Madlener House, a Prairie-style mansion located in the historic Gold Coast neighborhood, where the Graham Foundation is located. Filbert's Old Time Root Beer
During the early 1900's, George Filbert, his wife and their young son, Charlie, could be seen on a horse-drawn wagon in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood delivering bottles of milk to stores and homes. It wasn't until the height of prohibition that Filbert's began making Root Beer. Now 85 years later, Ron Filbert, the fourth generation Filbert, continues to make his families famous Root Beer in the same Bridgeport neighborhood where his Great-Grandfather started it all back in 1926.

The Leon M. Lederman Science Education Center houses hands-on exhibits for ages 10+, technology and science labs, a store and the K-12 Teacher Resource Center. Science Adventures classes for all ages take place at the Lederman Science Center. The Center also has a unique collection of indoor and outdoor exhibits introducing students to the world of particle physics. Open to the public Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–4:30 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. The Center can accommodate groups of five or fewer on a walk-in basis. Larger groups must book a visit. Located in the historic Highland Park Movie Theatre Building, in a space previously dedicated to a millinery shop during the 30's and 40's, proprietor and designer Lisa Farrell interprets the art of millinery with a modern eye. This tres chic boutique feels like a Parisian millinery salon complete with draped velvet curtains, an elegant chaise lounge and an ornate vintage mirror. By far the most dramatic element of the salon is the wall lined with old hat blocks – a true mark of craftsmanship seldom seen in department stores. Beautifully handcrafted women's hats are displayed in small vignettes throughout the intimate salon. These one-of-a-kind couture creations are wonderfully detailed with frothy feathers, sumptuous fabrics, vintage beading or another well-crafted trim.

The Blue Island Farmers Market, which features a wide variety of fresh foods straight from the garden, starts July 11th and runs through October 3rd. It will go from 3:00 to 6:30 pm at the Metro South Park. Farmers Market produce provided by Zeldenrust Farm, taco cart & jumping house free to all children. Mondays, 3-6:30PM.
