String Theory at Ravinia
The luminaries that inform Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute piano and strings program, from world-renowned violinists Miriam Fried and Midori to pianist (and former fellow) Alon Goldstein, are well versed in every permutation of string chamber music. Mozart left an indelible mark when he created his First Quintet, K. 174—the addition of a second viola became a standard for centuries to come. The Boogers Concert at Wonder Works

Three sisters, Sadie, Lillian, and Goldie Cohen, expressed a wish that the 400-acres of farmland located adjacent to the city of Chillicothe, IL be dedicated as park land and a model farm for educational, recreational, and conservational purposes. While the Cohen sisters lived just off Moss Avenue in Peoria, they loved their family farm. Their vision was for the property to remain agriculturally related. The master plan envisions the creation of a living history farm, a central activity building, large festival areas, a welcome center, restaurant, agricultural equipment museum activity area, and outdoor natural amphitheater. Since 1921, The Virginia Theater has been a landmark in the business district of Champaign and in the history of the region. For 75 years, the 1,525 seat theater has offered entertainment as a vaudeville house, legitimate theater, and movie house. The historic theater plays host to Roger Ebert’s Ebertfest Film Festival every spring.
A beautiful 1931 art deco 375 seat theatre. Shows are open to all ages and start at 7pm except on special events. This building was designed by the famous Louis Skidmore of "Skidmore, Owens and Merrill." The Watseka Theatre is believed to be the only theatre he ever designed. Willie Dixon's Blues Heaven Foundation (FMR. Chess Records Studio)
2120 S. Michigan Ave. is one of the most famous addresses in all of American pop history. Former home of the legendary Chess Records label from 1957 to 1967, 2120 housed the studio and recording company that begat legendary recordings by Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Howlin’ Wolf, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and dozens of others.
