Starlight Theatre at Rock Valley College

The Rockford IceHogs are a professional ice hockey team that plays in the American Hockey League.They began play during the 2007–08 AHL season at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, IL. They are the top affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL.
Ingersoll Golf Course
This wooded 18-hole course with narrow fairways and gently rolling terrain offers 6,107 challenging yards on its par 71 course. Opened in 1922, it is named for Lt. Clayton Ingersoll, who lost his life in an air crash over France in World War I. This course is located on Rockford's far west side and was selected by the Tiger Woods Foundation to host Tiger Woods for a two-day golf clinic in 2001 and 2004.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Laurent House
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Laurent House in Rockford, Illinois is the only building ever designed by the famed architect for a person with a disability. Kenneth and Phyllis Laurent commissioned and lived in the home from 1952 until early 2012, when it was acquired by a private foundation and added to the National Register of Historic Places. This single-story Usonian home is both functional and beautiful, decades ahead of ADA accessibility requirements. The home features a solar hemicycle footprint, patio, fishpond, carport, and outdoor connectivity to the natural landscape. The modest home is built of Chicago Common Brick and Red Tidewater Cypress and much of the labor and materials were sourced locally from Rockford. - Reservations are required for all tours of the Laurent House. - Tours will be hosted the first full weekend (Saturday and Sunday in the same month) and the third weekend of each month. - All tours begin on a shuttle bus at Midway Village, 6799 Guilford Rd., Rockford, IL, after checking-in at the Guest Relations table, in the Midway Village Museum lobby. - Please arrive at Midway Village 15 minutes prior to your tour. - The bus leaves on the hour, at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. each day that tours operate. - There are no restrooms or parking available at the Laurent House. During the winter and early spring months, small private and large group tours are encouraged to tour the Laurent House. For private tours of fewer than 10 guests there is an additional charge. Dedicated in 1903 in ceremonies that included a speech by Teddy Roosevelt, Memorial Hall is a tribute to Rockford citizens who have served in the Armed Forces. Large wall plaques list names of fallen veterans, and cases in the main lobby, side rooms and the lower level display Armed Services artifacts including memories of the Civil War, the World Wars and Camp Grant. The renovated second floor auditorium is used by cultural groups for shows and presentations and is accessible via the elevator.

With more than 5,000 performances, 20 million records sold, 29 movie soundtracks and 40 gold and platinum recording awards, the band is frequently credited as being among the most influential in rock. Cheap Trick was honored in October 2007 by the Chicago Chapter of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) for their contributions to the music industry and were featured in the John Varvatos Spring 2008 ad campaign.
Jackson Browne at Coronado PAC
Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music and has defined a genre of songwriting charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. He was honored with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2007. Jackson's career began in the mid-60s in Los Angeles and Orange County folk clubs. Except for a brief period in NYC in the late 1960s, he has always lived in Southern California. His debut album came out on David Geffen's Asylum Records in 1972. Since then, he has released fourteen studio albums and four collections of live performances. His new studio album, Standing In The Breach, is a collection of ten songs, at turns deeply personal and political, exploring love, hope, and defiance in the face of the advancing uncertainties of modern life.

Nicholas Conservatory - Lorikeet Exhibit
For the second year, lorikeets are landing in Rockford! These bright, colorful birds will swoop in for a stay at Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens. Inside the Conservatory, guests will find a special lorikeet house which provides guests with an intimate look into the fascinating world of the lorikeet. Visitors will be "face to beak" with the small- to medium-sized parrots known for their playful personalities, vibrant coloration, and their ability to mimic words and sounds. Lorikeets are a group of birds classified under "true parrots," and are found throughout the Australian region. Lorikeets, or lorys, have a unique brush-tipped tongue for feeding on fruits, vegetables, and flowers and are constantly looking for nectar and fruits due to their rapid metabolism. Guests will be able to purchase a nectar cup for $1 at the front desk and gift shop inside the Conservatory.
Coronado PAC - Russian Grand Ballet Presents Swan Lake
This full-length classic production of the world's most famous ballet, Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, features Russia's brightest ballet stars. Swan Lake (from 1895), together with The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker, forms part of the big three of Russian nineteenth century ballets. Composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, together with choreographer Marius Petipa, raised both ballet music and dance as an art form to new heights with this piece. There's a good reason why Swan Lake is so often called the ‘ballet of all ballets.' The combination of pure romanticism, the story about love and deception and Tchaikovsky's famous ballet music all continue to reach new generations of audiences. Locktoberfest is a family fun festival, with a different theme each week! Our festival features free and low fee paid activities. Each weekend we will offer carnival rides, games, children's farm, pony rides, wagon rides, pick your own pumpkin, seasonal food, face painting, and more! Parking is free. YMCA Fall Festival at Camp Winnebago
The YMCA of Rock River Valley is teaming up with Twisted Crypt Productions to transform Camp Winnebago YMCA into the region's newest family-fun destination this fall. Family Fall Festival promises to be your family's new fall tradition complete with trick-or-treating in the Halloween Village, a two-mile corn maze, pumpkin patch, craft bazaar, live music, food and more (Saturdays and Sundays in October). Nygren Wetland Preserve
Nygren Wetland Preserve is a 721-acre tract near the confluence of the Rock River and Pecatonica River, making it an important stopover and nesting spot for many species of birds including Sandhill Cranes. The Natural Land Institute, a private, not-for-profit land conservation organization, owns the preserve and began restoration of prairies, wetlands and woodlands to the area in 2000.

Macktown Living History Education Center
Built in 1834 on the Pecatonica River by fur trader Stephen Mack, one of the area's first settlers. See the walnut cradle Mack made for his children, plus Native American artifacts, donated by Mack's descendants. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Macktown is where Stephen Mack, his Native American wife, Hononegah, and the people who inhabited the village conducted their daily business. Remnants of 8,000 years of Native American occupation of this same site can be seen. Stephen Mack’s Home and the Whitman Trading Post still stand, and a reconstruction of the village is being undertaken, including the disassembly of the 2-story shop and schoolroom to be rebuilt at its original site. There are many historic and prehistoric artifacts in the Education Center.

A bath house is located adjacent to the beach, and the Snack Bar offers a variety of food including burgers, hot dogs and ice cream.
