Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower
The Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower is dedicated to the duo's history-making journey, and serves as a gateway to the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway. The Corps of Discovery voyage began here on May 14, 1804, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Take the elevator up to the top of the 180-foot-tall tower, where you’ll step out to panoramic views of the swirling river waters (the view is particularly stunning at sunset). On platforms located at 50, 100 and 150 feet visitors learn about the early days of Hartford, as well as Lewis and Clark's journey.
Twilight Thursdays at the Tower
Watch the sunset over the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers from 150 feet in the air at the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower. Experience the breathtaking view of the landscape during the twilight hours, April 21st and May 26th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at “Twilight Thursdays” at the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower. Admission is $5 per person.

International SUNday Festival
Get a good look at the sun through special solar telescopes during the first-ever International SUNday Festival at the Confluence Tower. Members of several local astronomical organizations will be on hand to celebrate the Summer Solstice (which falls on Father's Day this year) from Noon to 5 p.m. The first 100 families to visit will receive a pair of free Solar Glasses. There will be food vendors, including "Good Looking Kettle Corn", Eppel's Pantry and Princivalli's Cafe on hand. Representatives will also share information about the sun, our nearest star in the Solar System. Amateur astronomers will provide their own optical equipment to safely view the sun including hydrogen, alpha, calcium and white light views. This event is free, although there is a charge to tour the Tower.
A Celebration of Girl Scouts
In honor of National Girl Scouts Day, the Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower will offer half price tours to all active Girl Scouts and their troop leaders! Local Girl Scouts will also be on hand showcasing their projects and greeting visitors. Admission is $1 for Active Girl Scouts; $2 for Troop Leaders.
Confluence Tower Wind Festival
Bring your kites to the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower and experience the thrill of kite flying. The Gateway Kite Club of St. Louis will bring a variety of kites and showcase their skills. The public is also invited to bring kites and join in the fun! This event is free and starts at 10:00 a.m. View the kite flying from from the Tower's three levels for great views. There is a charge to tour the Tower.
Historic Jerseyville Courthouse Square
Built in 1893, this historic masonry courthouse sits at the center of town and serves as the hub of activity for the entire county. The courthouse is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tours of the courthouse are available for groups with reservations. Fulkerson Mansion and Farm Museum
Colonel William H. Fulkerson's mansion and farm museum contains many rare agricultural items and equipment with emphasis on large, rare farm steam traction engines, utilized for plowing the prairie, threshing the grain, and for powering early sawmills. The estate is 14-room Southern-style Victorian mansion that has remained virtually unchanged to this day. It was placed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Gateway Grizzlies at GCS Ballpark
The Gateway Grizzlies are a professional baseball team based in Sauget, IL. The Grizzlies are a member of the West Division of the Frontier League – which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball. The Grizzlies played their home games during their inaugural 2001 season at Sauget Field. In 2002, GCS Ballpark, (formerly GMC Stadium) opened and has remained the club's home since.
