This exhibition is an installation, print and multi-media exhibition of work by Jonathan McFadden and David Wischer that presents a reaction to news and social media cycles by drawing attention to the fractured and often-sensationalized events and culture. Works are appropriated from multiple media outlets and social media sites, emphasizing the fractured narrative that news cycles create by pushing aside recent events for the most current story, creating a culture that blurs events and leaves the viewer entertained but unable to recall details. McFadden incorporates recognizable forms so that the viewer feels a sense of remembrance toward, but may not link to the original meaning. Thus the work created in reaction to these events begins to take on its own narrative about global society and how we digest information. Opening Reception: August 19, 5 pm to 7 pm. Free, but donations appreciated. (815-235-9755)
