The Maine Course
Here at The Maine Course we do not offer a “fixed” menu for that we are constantly seeking for the best produce, fish and meats available on the market. Whether it’s locally grown or from Tasmania, there is no place we won’t seek to find the best ingredients. While dining here we focus on fresh, unique and tantalizing flavor combinations. To achieve this we use old world and modern techniques to hopefully give you a true dining experience. Our commitment to fresh food and flavors are transcended into the dining room with limited art and décor to create a minimalist space. With this we hope our patron focus on the maximalist of the entire experience with well crafted and designed dishes. Not to be limited just by the food we offer many hand crafted cocktails, a great selection of spirits and a wine list that should accommodate most pallets. We strive to provide a great value to our customers throughout their visit each and every time they chose us for their dining location. Focusing on fresh ingredients and attention to detail is something that others cannot match.

Dinner & A Little History in Lockport
Topic: "Searching for Marquette: A Pilgrimage in Art". Through monuments and artwork, Ruth D. Nelson retells the story of the 17th-century French Jesuit missionary-explorer, Father Jacques Marquette, the celebrated surveyor of the Mississippi River. But his expedition down the Great River was only part of the Marquette legacy, which began on the southern shore of Lake Superior and ended on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. Searching for Marquette follows his journey through today's cities and towns in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Arkansas to uncover French relics, Native-American royalty, and hearty settlers in a drama of faith, the fur trade and the future of America's heartland. Speaker: Ruth Nelson lives in Downers Grove, Illinois and writes on art in the Midwestern United States. Reservations required. 6:00pm - 8:30pm, Public Landing Restaurant, $24 CCA Members, $29 Non-Members.

CITY: St. Charles
Bittersweet Confections is a chocolate truffle company that also supplies upscale catering to the Quincy, Illinois region. Chef Michael Mitchell got the idea for his chocolates when a cigar and a bar of chocolate shared the same space in a sock drawer. Strangely, the half smoked cigar infused the chocolate with its aroma and gave it an amazing flavor. Michael had made his truffles for various restaurants and employers before deciding to create his own line of confections. His desire for comfort foods comes in contact with his love for the culinary arts. The chef claims to be a hardworking family man first and foremost, but makes time from the daily grind to experiment with new flavors and infusions for his line of “less talk, more action” chocolate truffles.
