Anderson Japanese Gardens - Japanese Summer Festival

Roscoe Lions Club Annual Fall Festival
The Roscoe Lions Club hosts the village's annual Fall Festival at Leland Park, featuring amusement rides, live music, parades and a raffle. All proceeds from the raffle will go toward supporting the Lions Club. The parade on Sunday starts at 11:00am.

Rockford Greek Fest - Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church
Greek Fest offers authentic Grecian food, pastries and a marketplace with jewelry, clothes, books and a variety of gifts. Friday night is "American Night" featuring entertainment by "Men of our Times." The taverna will be open Friday night through Sunday night. Church tours will be offered and kids' entertainment provided. There will be a live Greek band on Saturday and Sunday.

Nick Swardson will be at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Downtown DeKalb, IL on Wednesday, September 17 at 8:00 PM. Ride of the Zombies
Ride of the Zombies is a costume-themed cycling and Family Fun Fair charity event designed to benefit Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago's Sleep Medicine Department. Cyclists can choose between a 25- or 50-mile route, riding McHenry County's flat to gently rolling country roads, passing beautiful scenic farms. The family members who stay behind can enjoy the Family Fun Fair, games, food, entertainment, and local artist booths. Presented by Bike Connection of Schaumburg and Children's Sleep Advocacy Foundation.
Greenwich Village Art Fair - Rockford Art Museum
Established in 1948, Rockford Art Museum's Greenwich Village Art Fair is one of the oldest continuous art fairs in the area and combines juried artists with family-friendly children's activities, live music, food and an atmosphere that brings the community together in a vibrant and art-filled setting. More than 100 artists are juried into the show by in categories of 3-D Functional, 3-D Non-functional, 2-D Medium, Jewelry, Photography, and Painting.
Turkey Testicle Festival
It’s a great night as you don’t have to bring a dish to pass or talk to relatives. If you have never tried a turkey testicle, this is your chance! No need to worry about the weather the festival is held under one huge heated tent, with plenty of portable potties available. The bar is open but the number of people allowed inside at any one time is limited, as it can become pretty packed. There will also be hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale to remember the night. “So grab a friend that's never been, enjoy a cold brew, great music, and hot nuts!" Art Fair & Ice Cream Social
For the second consecutive year Ellwood House Museum has combined two popular summer traditions – Art at Ellwood and the Ellwood House Ice Cream Social – into a single day of events on the grounds of the historic mansion. The entire day is generously sponsored by our major sponsor, The National Bank & Trust Company. On Sunday, August 3 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., thirty three artists from around the Midwest will exhibit and sell their work on the mansion’s front lawn in such media as paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry, and fiber arts. Folk rock duo Patchouli will entertain during the first part of the day with a mellow blend of voice and acoustic guitar near the entrance to the mansion. At 2:30 P.M., the DeKalb Municipal Band will take over for its annual concert on the terrace during the ice cream social. A variety of food will be for sale on the grounds starting at 11:00 A.M. Vendors include the DeKalb Rotary Club, Culver’s of Sycamore, and Boy Scout Troop 33. Pie will be sold by the Ellwood House Association. First-floor tours of the Ellwood Mansion and the Ellwood-Nehring House will be offered from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. An $8 ticket allows visitors to tour the first floor of both historic buildings. All tours begin in the Visitor Center. Free kids-only tours for kids ages 6-12 will run on the hour from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The tours are sponsored by Kish Health System and will combine health and history as kids will count the number of steps they climb while touring the historic Ellwood Mansion. The DeKalb Area Garden Club will present garden vignettes in the Visitor Center, and members will be present to share information and answer gardening questions. Onsite parking at the Ellwood House Museum is very limited. Please utilize legal street parking near the museum.
