The course consists of one loop around the historic paved road inside Taylor Park. This is an untimed run and all finishers receive ribbons. The 5K begins at 8:35 am. The course consists of three loops around the paved road inside Taylor Park, a 5K (3.1 miles), wheel-measured certified course that is flat and fast designed to help runners achieve a personal best.

The featured artist will be Lorraine Torrence, who makes wearable art and quilts, and will be presenting three lectures, "Design Principles for Quilters," "Finding Your Voice," and "Creative Clothing for Everybody." In addition to 300+ quilts on display, there will be exhibits in other disciplines and special exhibits including the Hoffman Challenge and a trunk show by SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates.) There will be demonstrations, workshops, lectures, and a vendors mall with new and longtime favorites. Food will also be available to purchase.

Country Lights Soy Candles started making candles as a hobby in 1999. At first, the candles were a soy/petroleum mix. After some experimenting, we were happy to go to a 100% soy candle. It did not take long for us to realize that soy candles were becoming very popular. Our "factory" is located on our family's Centennial Farm in north central Illinois. All of the candles are hand poured by family members.

The Chicago Bandits are a women's professional softball team based in Rosemont, Illinois. Since the 2005 season, they have played as a member of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF). The Bandits won the 2008 NPF championship, defeating the Washington Glory in the final game of the championship series. The team won their second NPF championship following the 2011 season when they won the championship series two games to none over the USSSA Pride. Come and take a tour of this historic playhouse. This playhouse was built by Dr. and Mrs. William Haskell for their five year old daughter Lucy. It is a rare architectural gem containing many of the flamboyant elements of the Queen Anne style: cartwheels, brackets, spires, diagonal sticking, fish scale shingles and stained glass windows. Its importance is magnified because so few of these accessory structures from children have survived. the playhouse contains a single room, front porch and side porch. The interior has been restored and the playhouse is open for special occasions. The playhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The open house will be held on June 11, July 9, August 13 and September 10, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Frank Lloyd Wright, Emil Bach House, Chicago's impressive "one of a kind" vacation rental home. This collaborative exhibit explores what it means to be Hmong American. How has Hmong life changed since refugees first entered the U.S. in the 1970s? What does it mean to be Hmong American today? Through objects, audio recordings and personal stories of Hmong Americans, this exhibit immerses visitors in the material culture and social issues of Hmong American communities. The exhibition is now open and will run through December 2016. A special opening reception featuring refreshments and live music will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the museum, located in Cole Hall on the NIU campus. The event is free and open to the public. The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Try your hand at the Litchfield TriathLou at Lake Lou Yaeger. Swimming in Lake Lou Yaeger is the best open water swim you will have in the Midwest. There really is no comparison to this large beach with pristine flat racing water. The bike course is flat and fast with some great curves to keep you entertained the whole ride. Both the 5k and 10k runs see very honest mile paces with plenty of flats, and a couple hills throughout. Sprint and Olympic distances are available.

Brüegala is an annual charity beer and wine festival run by the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees. The festival has multiple food vendors, over 500 beers, 50+ wines, glasses of draft beer and wine slushies. They also will have entertainment with live music throughout the two-day event.
