Silver Creek & Stephenson Railroad Fathers Day Celebration
All aboard as a 36 ton 1912 Heisler steam locomotive pulls three cabooses, including an antique red caboose reported to be the oldest in the state, and three passenger flatcars for a four mile ride through farmlands and across a bridge 30' above Yellow Creek. Purchase your ticket at the Silver Creek Depot, a turn-of-the-century replica filled with railroad artifacts. Browse for novelties in the Freight House Gift Shop. Visit the Silvercreek Museum filled with early Americana and featuring the 130 ton Cooper Corliss Steam Engine and its over 25' fly wheel. Food will be available at the museum. Let's Go Science
The Let’s Go Science Show is a look at “how things work” with Professor Smart and Ms. Knowitall. Learn about air pressure, flight, optical illusions, laws of inertia, static electricity, and much more. This fun filled production teaches physics concepts through theatrically based experiments and demonstrations. Midsommar Music Festival

Maggie Daley Park
A major construction project continues at the former Daley Bicentennial Plaza site, now being transformed into the magnificent Lakefront recreation center, Maggie Daley Park. As part of a staggered opening, the ice skating ribbon and playground area is now open to the public, and the fieldhouse will be open for winter programs beginning January 5, 2015. 55th Annual Chain O' Lakes Fishing Derby and Winter Festival
Bring the family and friends out to the Thirsty Turtle Beach in Antioch to enjoy the good old-fashioned winter fun. There will be raffles and games for the children and adults both days. Weather permitting. This year fish judging and food will be inside the tent. Come watch the fishermen register their catch of the hour hoping to win a prize for the smallest or the largest fish. When you get hungry there's plenty of good food at the Conservation Café. Don't forget the children's auction held on Sunday at 3:00pm. The adult auction is next followed by the main raffle. There will also be an Ice Shanty Contest.
