Highwood's 5th Annual Garlic Fest
From 4-9pm, some 5,000 attendees come to Everts Park to sample a variety of garlic creations from out-of-the-ordinary garlic ice cream, candy, cupcakes and cocktails, to the more usual pastas, sauces, breads, and butters. Held during Highwood’s Evening Market, the Fest features a Taste of Garlic Competition for the Savory and Sweet categories!
43rd Annual Gurnee Days Celebration
Gurnee Days returns this week for 4 days of family fun. Activities include a bicycle rodeo, live entertainment, Farmers Market, Gurnee Idol, golf tournament, and amusement rides, a 10K race, baby contest, rib fest and eating contest, fireworks, a pancake breakfast, parade, Scoop the Loop Car Show, petting zoo, pony rides, a talent show, exhibitors, games, food booths and stage events. Effingham Artisan Fair
Downtown is transformed into an art gallery with works from over 40 artists, on display for purchase. Artwork for sale includes oil paintings, pottery, jewelry, and sculptures. Several artists will demonstrate their craft at the event. As part of the event, the Artisan Fair features wine and beer tasting. There will be approximately ten regional wineries and several different craft beers available for tasting. This event will open from 12 – 5 p.m. Other activities include the 5K Run and Walk, Kids Korner, sidewalk chalk art, “Can Do Art,” food fair (including Gabby Goat, IGA, Sausage Haus, Doris Yoder's Kitchen, The Cookie Jar and Tropical Sno) and live musical entertainment at the gazebo. The Historic Court House Museum will be open for tours.

19th annual celebration of fiber and the fiber arts with workshops, demonstrations of spinning and weaving, vendors offering fibers for spinning plus finished yarn, dyes, books, gifts, equipment, handmade soap, and baskets. Also supplies for spinning, weaving, knitting, felting, dyeing, tatting and crochet. 9 am to 5 pm. Adults: $2; Children under 12: Free.

Since 1930 this volunteer-run agricultural fair has provided fun family entertainment. Activities include a chainsaw carving auction, cake auction for Ag scholarships, the Broken Horn Rodeo, and the Ramer Demo Derby. Also included are livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, horse show, kiddie tractor pull and pig races.
Homer Community Festival

Clark County Fair
