Mark Twain Toy Show
29th Annual Toy Show The Mark Twain Toy Show is one of the finest toy shows in the Mid-West. It showcases collectible toys and crafts related to agriculture, construction, transportation and motor sports. The various items you will find at the show include die-cast collectibles, scale models, hand-built custom equipment, pedal tractors, autographs, memorabilia, and apparel. Collectibles, new and old, ranging from Hot Wheels to Tonka to Ertl to SpecCast will be on hand in the hotel lobby, ball room and in the second floor hotel rooms. Every kind of tractor, implement, heavy construction equipment, tractor-trailer, circle-track racer and pulling tractor can be found here for your chance to add to your collection. Christmas at Clayville
Enjoy caroling groups from local elementary schools starting at noon. There will be a children's store, face painting and refreshments. Santa will as be there to visit with the children.

First Night Springfield
28th Annual First Night Springfield! This family-friendly, alcohol-free event is a Springfield area tradition. Free children's activities from 1 - 4 pm at Springfield High School Commons. Fireworks at 8 pm. Over 30 performances around Downtown Springfield from 6 pm - 11:15 pm.
Itasca Historical Depot Museum
The Itasca Historical Museum was the original Itasca Train Depot built in 1873. A 1939 Milwaukee Road Rib-side Caboose numbered 01839 was acquired and restored to its original bright orange appearance with all new doors, windows and wood interior. Kids love the interactive train display in the Depot which looks like Itasca in the late 1800’s with bells and whistles. Open Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11am-4pm and the 1st and 2nd Saturdays each month from 9am-2pm.

Great Carbondale Pumpkin Race
Folks from all over literally take pumpkins and creatively engineer them into race cars. Participants race their pumpkins down the streets of downtown Carbondale, competing with one another, and hope theirs crosses the finish line first! Pumpkins race in a series of categories (largest, fastest, most creative, etc.), and must travel unassisted on wheels inserted onto axles that penetrate completely through the melon (no caster wheels and no support frame or chassis will be allowed). This family-friendly competition is both challenging and fun.

This replica of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Wall in Washington is 80% the size of the original. The wall features the names of soldiers who were killed or missing in action between 1955-1975, the time period of the Vietnam War.
