Oak Brook Oktoberfest
Welcome to the 5th Annual Oak Brook Park District Oktoberfest! The Park District, combined with the Village and the Ronald McDonald House will feature a softball tournament, live music, food, and beer. Also at the event are Children’s activities (1-5pm), a weekend-long flag football tournament, and other activities!
Midwest Wizard of Oz Fest
The Midwest Wizard of Oz Festival has been a long standing tradition began in 1982 when Wizard of Oz store owner, Jean Nelson, came up with the idea to create an Oz-themed festival. Since then it has grown to be one of the biggest festivals in the nation that produced crowds of about 30,000 people each year. This year, for the first time ever, the Midwest Wizard of Oz Festival has been moved to the Chicago Southland area in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Hobnob Harvest Market
Enjoy over 100 marvelous vintage and handmade vendors September 11 & 12 at Tuscan Hills Winery in Effingham, IL. This isn't your grandma's antique show! The Prairie Moon Party is Friday, September 11, from 3 - 7 p.m. and Market Day is Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The stage is set for a great evening of festivities and fun for the entire family as the Effingham Central Business Group hosts the 3rd annual Chili Fest on Friday, October 16th, from 5-8 p.m. in Downtown Effingham. Nearly two dozen businesses will host either a chili tasting stop or other treats and refreshments throughout the evening. You can also do a little late night shopping to see what the great stores in the Central Business District have to offer! Many family friendly activities are also planned throughout the evening, including celebrity choice awards, live music, games and more. Bring the entire family!
Holiday Lights at Bunker Hill
Historic buildings at Kennekuk County Park's "Bunker Hill Historic Area" will be lit for the occasion and decorated for the holidays. Continuing throughout the holiday season, the lights will be displayed weekends from 5-8 p.m.
Cornfest Family Fun Day
Our popular family picnic returns! Enjoy hot dogs & hamburgers along with roasted corn on the cob, homemade pies, and sweet taffy apples. There will be plenty of entertainment, including games, races, and a fishing tournament for kids. The giant woodpile will be back, so kids can use hammers, nails, and paint to create whatever they want. Make & Take Corn Husk Dolls project. There is no general admission fee, and tickets will be available for all food, drinks, and activities.
DeKalb Farmers' Market 20th Anniversary Celebration
The DeKalb Farmers' Market is celebrating its 20th Anniversary! Join us for a special market day of celebration on August 20th from 10 am - 2 pm in Van Buer Plaza in Downtown DeKalb! There will be a Live Lunch Music Series presented by the Egyptian Theatre featuring the Kishwaukee Brass Quintet and drawings throughout the day for a chance to win $20 to use at any market vendor!
Gazebo Art Festival
In coordination with the Al Sears Jazz Festival, this event in Macomb's Chandler Park provides a vibrant atmosphere for music and art lovers alike! The Macomb Public Library will also host one of its annual book sales, and food vendors are available. The festival will take place September 19, 9 am to 5 pm.
Military Tribute & Concert featuring USAF Band of Mid-America “Shades of Blue”
The military tribute will honor local first responders, military members and veterans. There will be a presentation a to honor local first responders and a Flag Honor Program with Honor Guard and Taps. There will also be a display of local fire and police equipment and K-9 unit. The evening concludes with a performance by the USAF Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble playing a free concert.
Cantigny Fall Festival

Macomb Balloon Rally
Enjoy a picnic with the family, while watching beautiful hot air balloons soar in the sky! This event is free and open to anyone who wants to attend. On September 11, the balloons will be flying in at 5:30 pm. Food and live entertainment will kickoff the balloon glow on September 12 from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Macomb Kite Festival
In Conjunction with the Macomb Balloon Rally, this event will feature a professional kite team, and several show kites. Macomb's vibrant kite festival will include activities for all ages and will be happening all day long!
Mutt Strut 5K Run/Walk-A-Thon & Fun Fest
Mutt Strut is a 5K run/walk-a-thon benefiting TAILS Humane Society. Come out and enjoy a beautiful path through Hopkins Park and then spend the afternoon with us at the Fun Fest. This portion of the event will feature dog contest, dog demonstrations, great food, local vendors, kids activities and mores. The walk/run costs $25 per adult and $10 per youth and the fun fest is free. And don't forget fido, this a dog friendly event!

The sparkling splendor of over 2,000 hand-carved, illuminated jack-o-lanterns will surround the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon at Washington Park at this annual Halloween festival.
Fall Festival at Lincoln’s New Salem
Come and see what a typical autumn life was like on the 1830's Illinois prairie. There will be costumed interpreters demonstrating daily tasks such as candle dipping, butter churning, soap making, basket making, spinning wool, gardening, natural dyeing, and fishing with nets. As well as a demonstration of meat smoking that will take place in one of the log village's period smokehouses. Wild game cooking will be demonstrated in the log homes and you are also welcome to step down into the cellar at the tavern to see how fruits and vegetables were preserved during the winter.
Flatland Summer Jam
Brian Davis is the featured headliner for the Flatland Summer Jam 2015. The event will be held on August 22nd at Veteran's Park in Macomb, Illinois. Dream Machines Roamer Cruise and Car Show
Join us for the Annual Labor Day Dream Machines Roamer Cruise and Car Show in the downtown business district. The car show will be held Saturday from 9 am – 3 pm with trophies awarded. The weekend of the Gazebo Art Festival, Macomb’s Western Illinois University hosts the annual Al Sears Jazz Festival, sharing Chandler Park and providing a vibrant atmosphere for music and art lovers alike. The Macomb Public Library also hosts one of its annual book sales and food vendors are available. Art Media Categories include 2-D such as drawing, photography/digital photography, digital art, printmaking, mixed media, painting, fiber arts and 3-D such as clay, jewelry, sculpture, wood and glass.
Labor Day Family Potluck Campout / Kayak Tour
