Cornfest Family Fun Day
Our popular family picnic returns! Enjoy hot dogs & hamburgers along with roasted corn on the cob, homemade pies, and sweet taffy apples. There will be plenty of entertainment, including games, races, and a fishing tournament for kids. The giant woodpile will be back, so kids can use hammers, nails, and paint to create whatever they want. Make & Take Corn Husk Dolls project. There is no general admission fee, and tickets will be available for all food, drinks, and activities.

Rock The Block Party
Please join us in Elmhurst City Centre for great local food, beer and wine and some of the area's best live music! The two day festival will run on Friday, September 11th from 4 to 10:30 pm and Saturday, September 12th from Noon to 10:30 pm. Friday night will feature both American English and 7th Heaven and Saturday night will feature ARRA and Sixteen Candles!
Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ
The Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ Cook-Off will welcome BBQ chefs who want to put their grilling skills to the test in the 7th Annual Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ Cook-Off. More than 60 teams participate in the largest amateur competition in the state of Illinois, and more than 1,800 attendees enjoyed the event each year. All proceeds from the event benefited the homeless families served by Bridge Communities.

In coordination with the Al Sears Jazz Festival, this event in Macomb's Chandler Park provides a vibrant atmosphere for music and art lovers alike! The Macomb Public Library will also host one of its annual book sales, and food vendors are available. The festival will take place September 19, 9 am to 5 pm.
Macomb Balloon Rally
Enjoy a picnic with the family, while watching beautiful hot air balloons soar in the sky! This event is free and open to anyone who wants to attend. On September 11, the balloons will be flying in at 5:30 pm. Food and live entertainment will kickoff the balloon glow on September 12 from 6 pm to 9 pm.
2015 Fall Cruise-In & Concert
Cruise down to Macomb, Illinois on September 13 to enjoy a day of raffles, prizes, food vendors, and live entertainment by Tanya Tucker. This event is hosted by Texas Tranzplants to help local veterans and their children. Tickets for this event are $25. Doors open at 12:30 pm, and the concert ends at 5 pm. Cademon Brewing Co. is an up-and-coming craft brewery running a seven barrel brewhouse and fifteen barrel fermenters. Cadamon's 40 seat Taproom features 12 taps dedicated to craft beer and craft sodas, with a Steampunk-inspired feel with our hand-made hammered copper bar top, custom light fixtures, and metalwork galore. Art, Music & Ice Cream at the Ellwood House
Enjoy a day of fun with art, music, history, and good food on the grounds of the historic Ellwood Mansion at the Ellwood House Museum’s annual summer event, the Art Fair & Ice Cream Social. Thirty artists from the Midwest will exhibit and sell their work on the front lawn of the mansion in such media as paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry, and fiber arts. Folk rock duo Patchouli will entertain during the first part of the day and at 2:30 P.M., the DeKalb Municipal Band will take over for its annual concert on the terrace. First-floor tours of the Ellwood Mansion and the Ellwood-Nehring House will be offered from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The DeKalb Area Garden Club will present garden vignettes in the Visitor Center throughout the day.
6th Annual Springfield Oyster & Beer Festival
Join us for the 6th Annual Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival for Charity. In the first 5 years, the event has raised over $30,000 for area charities! Sample upwards of 100 fine craft beers and ciders from local, midwest, and even some national breweries. Great River Grape Escape
Enjoy the bounty of Illinois Vintners at the annual Great River Grape Escape. Traditionally held the 4th weekend in September on Quincy's riverfront. New hours this year are Sat. 12-7pm and Sunday 12-5pm. Bring a lawn chair and your own cheese and crackers. Enjoy live music coupled with wine and food pairings. Dinner & A Little History: Female Spies of the South
Led by a host of mostly female scholars, new research has revealed that women were involved in the Civil War efforts of both the North and the South, in ways most people never expected. Speaker: Amanda Fesperman of the Illinois Valley Community College has been studying women in politics and history for the past 25 years and will lead an informative and fascinating discussion.

Scarecrow Fest at Route 66 Park in Braidwood

Winter Holiday Hayride
Our annual holiday hayrides will feature the food, fun and traditions from the pioneers of North America. We'll ride on our decorated hay wagon through the streets of Palos Heights singing Christmas carols then return to the Nature Center to enjoy food, crafts and other activities. Registration and payment to be made in person or by mail no later than the Monday before hayride. $8 per person.
