Memphis - Coronado Performing Arts Center
From the underground dance clubs of 1950's Memphis where rock and roll was born, comes a hot musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Memphis tells the story of DJ Huey Calhoun, a good ole' local boy with a passion for R&B music and Felicia Farrell, an up-and-coming black singer that's ready for her big break. Rockford Coronado Concert Association - Emanuel Ax, Piano
Emanuel Ax captured public attention when he won the first Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in 1974. Later, he captured the Michael's Award of Young Concert Artists in 1975 followed by the coveted Avery Fisher Prize in 1979. Recent releases include Mendelssohn Trios with Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman, Strauss' Enoch Arden narrated by Patrick Stewart, and two-piano music by Brahms and Rachmaninoff with Yefim Bronfman.
Wasmuth String Quartet
The Danville Symphony Orchestra is pleased to welcome the Wasmuth Quartet back to Danville for its second season of free performances and educational events. This year's public concerts offer some of the best meat and potatoes of the classical string quartet literature and the repertoire they've chosen will not disappoint classical enthusiasts.
Coronado PAC - John Mellencamp "Plain Spoken Tour"
"The Voice of the Heartland" will play 80 shows including multiple dates in the artist's hometown of Bloomington, Indiana; Nashville, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, and more. The special guest is Carlene Carter. On September 23rd, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Mellencamp will release one of the most distinguished records of his career, Plain Spoken on Republic Records, which includes ten stunningly elegant and soul-searching Americana gems. Plain Spoken is set to be hailed as an unparalleled new chapter in Mellencamp's distinctive songbook. Amphion String Quartet and David Shifrin, Clarinet - Coronado PAC
Hailed for its "precision, assertiveness and vigor," the Amphion String Quartet is a winner of the 2011 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition. Clarinetist David Shifrin is one of only two wind players to have been awarded the Avery Fisher Prize since the award's inception in 1974.

Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 7:30 PM Gaelic Storm Live in Concert Over the course of 10 albums and nearly 3,000 live shows, Gaelic Storm - the chart-topping, multi-national Celtic band - is dishing up a hearty serving of Full Irish - The Best of Gaelic Storm. The greatest-hits album spans the bulk of the band's career, mixing crowd favorites and concert staples with three previously unreleased recordings, including "Whiskey in the Jar" and "Irish Party in Third Class" from Titanic. The album features sea shanties and drinking songs, traditional tunes and Gaelic Storm originals, instrumental workouts and vocal showcases. Historic Nauvoo Visitor Center

This one hour musical play tells the story of life in the early 1840s, as immigrants came up the Mississippi River to Nauvoo on the Maid of Iowa, a beautiful little paddle-wheeler. You’ll laugh at the antics of young Eli, thrill at the dancing and music, and feel the depth of devotion of these early settlers in Nauvoo as they face the martyrdom of their leader, and the violent and dangerous exodus from their homes in the middle of winter. Tickets are free but required for admission.
