Heartland Community College
The Heartland Community College campus is a community resource that may be scheduled as available for activities consistent with the mission and policies of the College and Board of trustees. the campus includes several conference rooms, classrooms, computer labs and an auditorium that can hold 430 people. All of these spaces can be reserved through the special events department.
The Castle Theatre
Immediately upon entering the main performing area, visitors are reminded of the days when no expense was spared in building a theater. Rich in architectural details such as gilded columns, ornate friezes and art deco-inspired chandeliers, the Castle is the perfect link between Bloomington’s past, present and future. The Castle features local and national emerging and established touring artists in a variety of music types, including Rock, Alternative Rock , Americana, Alternative Country, Blues, Jazz and Contemporary Alternative. Additionally, the space may provide corporate events and weekend children’s musical performances during the day, with the balance of the calendar available to rent for private parties, shows, recitals and other events.
IWU McPherson Theatre
The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Theatre Arts houses extraordinary talent within its facilities at the McPherson Theatre. Four main stage plays are performed here annually, selected from a playbill including everything from Shakespeare to musicals. McPherson Hall, completed in 1963, is named for IWU's 10th President, Harry W. McPherson, and contains a 300-seat theatre, scene shop, classrooms and other facilities. Midwest Institute of Opera
The Midwest Institute of Opera is Bloomington-Normal's newest opera company. Performances are held at Illinois State University's Center for Performing Arts Concert Hall. The Institute brings in opera professionals from New York City and participants have come from all over the U.S., Canada, Egypt and Australia. Operas are performed in their original language (with English supertitles) and all productions are fully staged and costumed.
Prairie Fire Theatre
Since incorporating in 1998, the Prairie Fire Theatre has provided the residents of Central Illinois with a unique musical experience. The Prairie Fire Theatre is a not-for-profit organization whose aim is to bring a high-quality, intimate musical theatre, chamber opera and educational resource to the Bloomington-Normal community. All events are performed and directed by local talent, drawing from a largely untapped but highly skilled pool of professional artists. ISU Center For The Performing Arts
The Center for the Performing Arts provides the Illinois State University campus and greater Central Illinois community with a wide variety of cultural activities. More than 20,000 people attend annual performances produced by the Illinois State University Schools of Music and Theatre in the Center and all performances are open to the public. Tickets to all performances are available online at Ticketmaster or by calling the box office.
IWU Westbrook Auditorium
Approximately 200 music majors and several hundred additional IWU students participate in music activities at Westbrook Auditorium throughout the school year. Several musical performances of all style periods are featured each semester, and most concerts are free with general seating. Call or visit the website for more information on performances.
Historic Normal Theater
Located in Uptown Normal, the Normal Theater originally opened in 1937 and was the first movie theater in Bloomington-Normal built specifically for sound films. An Art Deco showplace built with streamline design, the Normal Theater has been completely restored to its original condition. It now operates as a film center, showing classic films on the big screen as well as independent and world cinema titles. In addition, the theater is used for a wide variety of non-film events and is available for rentals where assembly seating is required.

Connie Link Amphitheatre
This beautiful and unique amphitheatre is easily accessible from the Constitution Trail. Some of the current programs include: High School Summer Theatre productions, Dress-Up Movie Nights and the outstanding concert series known as the Sounds of the Amphitheatre, which highlights local talent from the Bloomington/Normal area. Programming begins in May and runs through October, weather permitting.
Stagecoach Players Theater
The Stage Coach Players is a one of the oldest, continuously operating community theatre troupes in Northern Illinois. In 2001/2002, the troupe moved to it's new permanent location in the former Moose Lodge on 5th Street and Grove in east downtown DeKalb, Since that first night on the farm, several generations of residents have been inspired by the Stage Coach Players...on both sides of the footlights.
