Alley Art Festival is a unique, fun-filled afternoon in downtown Aurora that highlights the local, creative community and brings out all ages to enjoy a day of art, music, and spectacle. More than 65 artists will be part of this year’s festivities along Water Street Mall, a tree-lined walkway sandwiched between Aurora’s City Hall on Downer Place and Culture Stock on Galena Boulevard. Artists set up tables along Water Street Mall to sell their art. Artisans and makers are also part of the festival. Everything from original paintings, hand-crafted drums, pottery, jewelry, and plastic monster figurines can be found at the festival.
There will be an abundance of delicious fresh produce, crafts, baked goods, plants & flowers, locally-raised hormone-free meat, handmade soaps, jewelry, artwork, pottery, art demonstrations and more at the Alton Farmer's and Artisans' Market. Admission is free for shoppers and there is plenty of parking at its new permanent location in the city-owned parking lot at the corner of Landmarks and Henry Street. The Alton Farmer's & Artisans' Market is every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Sending out some love to all of the jewelers and jewelry lovers with this Highland Park, Illinois indoor festival November 18, 19 and 20; located at the Highland Park Country Club. The Burgoo Festival is an annual village street party featuring flea marketers, craftsmen, musicians, and other entertainment. More than 250 vendors will present their wares at this craft show and flea market. Sponsored by the non-profit LaSalle County Historical Society, it is the organization’s major fundraiser.
Quilts are displayed in several historic churches in the Villages of Kampsville, Hardin and Brussels. Beautiful quilts that belong to the residents of Calhoun County are on display in the Churches along with quilt exhibits and activities in Church Halls. Calhoun County communities join together to share the beauty and history of quilts that have been in local families as far back as the 1800s. There are over one hundred (100) quilts on display in the various locations. A brief history of each quilt will be provided so visitors can appreciate the craftsmanship and stories that are uniquely associated with them. Cannon Park Community Market is a producer-only market that features many of the Southern Illinois region’s farmers, growers, and artisans. Wednesdays from 3-7pm at the Carterville Community Center in Cannon Park, the market provides the Tri-C area with fresh local foods, artisan crafts, and family-friendly activities.
Look for over 120 artists to be showcased at this year’s Cedarhurst Art & Craft Fair featuring glass, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, wood, basketry and leather, two-dimensional art and much more. An exciting area just for Children will include lots of games and make and take crafts for children to enjoy as well as their very own place to shop, the “Children’s Store.” Have a seat in the Grand Tent and enjoy entertainment by national and regional bands and tasty treats in the Cedarhurst Beer Garden! Chairs on Parade is an event where Carlinville businesses purchases a chair and decorates it to their liking. The event is all about bringing old fashioned fun, family and shopping together while supporting the local business community. The chairs will be on display outside of the businesses beginning on Saturday, August 6th. Part of the event includes the first ever Carlinville Restaurant Week from Monday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 28th, celebrating local food establishments and retail stores. The highlight of that week will occur on Friday, August 26th with a flotilla parade and afterwards an auction for chairs that are donated back to Shop Local First. The profit from the chairs will go to the local food bank. The night will also include Mid-West Largest Squirt Gun fight, and a street party with Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters rock band.
