In honor of the state’s 200th birthday, Mayslake Peabody Estate asked artists participating in Mayslake programs to create work inspired by the people, places and events that have shaped Illinois history. 200 Years in the Making is the result. From Tully Monsters to Violets, the works are as diverse as the state itself.
Participating artists represent the Mayslake Nature Study and Photography Club and the Exploring Watercolor and Collage: Lines and Simple Shapes art classes.
The exhibit runs July 18 – Aug. 10, Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. There is no admission fee and we will be hosting a free two-hour reception on Monday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.
