Information

McHenry County Historical Society's Annual Cider Fest has been bringing history to life for more than 40 years! A small group had a cider press and decided to perform a cider-making demonstration, and the event mushroomed from there.

This day of festivities provides a variety of history-related learning that goes far beyond the demonstration of traditional cider making, including blacksmithing, barn-raising, a working telegraph machine and even Civil War re-enactments. You won't want to miss the annual apple bake off and sale for all of your favorite fall goodies. This event always takes place the first Sunday in October and is hosted by the McHenry County Historical Society.
