The concert is held on the second Sunday in December at 3 p.m. at the Cornerstone Church on Moreland Road. More than 750 attend the concert annually.
For nearly 30 years, the Bethalto Spirit Community Choir & Orchestra has performed a free Christmas Concert to kick off the Bethalto Christmas Walk. The Concert features singers and musicians from around the Riverbend area performing holiday pops, traditional Christmas songs and sacred selections in a variety of styles. Talented soloists and ensembles enhance the performance, which includes guest appearances by the Civic Memorial High School Chorus, the Zion Lutheran Hand Bell Choir, and a youth choir. The concert is also streamed live on the Internet at Riverbender.com and simulcast live by radio station WBGZ 1570 AM and 94.3 FM.
