Edwards Place, built in 1833 and remodeled in 1857, is an historic house museum that tells the story of social and domestic life in Abraham Lincoln's Springfield. This Italianate mansion was a center for social activity in Springfield.

We will be offering self-guided tours through Edwards Place for Doors Open Illinois, along with periodic entertainment from our staff and docents throughout both days. Tour the newly restored mansion - the first floor was completed in 2015 and the second floor in 2018 - while perhaps hearing piano music on a piano heard by Abraham Lincoln or talk with Mrs. Edwards about what it was like to host many of Springfield's prominent citizens in the 19th century.
