Pleasant Home is considered one of the earliest and most distinguished examples of Prairie School Architecture in the nation, operated as a museum open to the public for educational programs, community events and festivals and cultural performances.

This National Historic Landmark is surrounded by 4.43 acres of public park, the original estate of John and Mamie Farson, who commissioned a young George W. Maher to design their home specifically built for entertaining. Guests of Pleasant Home will find themselves in awe the moment they step into the grand Great Hall, surrounding by Victorian lightbulbs, ornate stained glass and intricately carved wood.
