The 2018 Illinois Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, August 18th at the Grundy County Fairgrounds in Morris, IL. Grundy County is the center of population for the State of Illinois and home to the 32nd Illinois Governor William G. Stratton (1951-1963). Our Fairgrounds are conveniently located one mile north of I-80 on Rt 47, approximately 12 miles west of the 1-80 / I-55 interchange. This year is the 3rd annual Illinois Beer Festival and the first year we will be implementing an “Illinois Brewery Only” participation format which will include a judged Illinois brewery competition and a “people’s choice” awards aspect to our festival.
The festival will run from 3pm – 8pm and cost attendees $35 per pass. Passes include access to festival grounds and up to twenty-four 3-4 oz. samples. Non drinking passes are available at the entry on the day of event for $5. Live music and food vendors will be present.
Representatives of each Illinois brewery will be in attendance pouring samples and informing festival-goers of their wares. With the new focus of “Illinois only” breweries, this year’s Illinois Beer festival will be a celebration of our state’s exploding craft beer industry. We are celebrating the fact that Illinois produces some of the world’s best beers and also the resurgence of a by-gone era when there was a brewery in every town, like during the era when Illinois was founded two hundred years ago.
