Illinois Bicentennial Commission will host Illinois’ 200th birthday at Navy Pier on December 3, 2018. The event will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Illinois’ recognition as the 21st state of the Union.

In a party to remember for the next 200 years, a star-studded lineup of birthday guests crashes the Aon Grand Ballroom for a night of spectacular entertainment.
The theme of the year-long Bicentennial Celebration will showcase the people, places and things that have been Born, Built and Grown in Illinois over the last 200 years that have made us Illinois Proud.
Program Info
The lineup includes:
  • Act 1- Born Built and Grown
    Hosted by Bill Kurtis
  • Act 2- Veterans
    A performance by members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
  • Act 3- Illinois entertainment
    A special acoustic performance by Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon
  • Act 4- Sports
    a Championship Parade featuring star athletes marching with Chicago team championship trophies
  • Act 5- History/Culture
    Performance by Miquel Cervantes – Hamilton in Chicago
  • Act 6- History of Chicago Blues
    Buddy Guy & Friends and Special Musical Guests
