The 67th Annual Mineral, Gem & Jewelry Show will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday, April 15, 2018, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Lester Building at Progress City.

Join us for 2 days of family fun! With a focus on kids and earth sciences, the Gem & Mineral Show features club exhibits, demonstrations, kids activities, door prizes and silent auctions! Exhibitors will showcase meteorites, opals, jade, crystals galore, carvings, jewelry, gemstones, lapidary arts, beads, fossils, and mineral specimens from all over the world. Demonstrations during the show will give visitors an up-close look at lapidary artists pursuing their skills in-person, including a silver-smith making crowns and tiaras, wire-wrapping, Bonsai trees in wire, beading, sand art, stone turning on a lathe and other arts. There will be a Kids Corner where each child under 15 will get a free ticket for the fossil dig, and have the chance to win in the treasure hunt and kids’ door prizes plus a silent auction just for kids. Silent Auctions for jewelry, minerals, fossils and gift items will be running all weekend. Hourly and Grand Door Prizes will be awarded! Food will be available.

The show is the Club’s major fundraising event, helping to underwrite educational activities, lapidary workshops and field trips. For more information contact the Club President at 309 830-6516, email cigmc@comcast.net, or go to the website at www.rmkapta.wix.com/cigmc
