Pottery on the Square is held on Monmouth’s Public Square and brings creative, free family fun to the area. Some of the activities include pottery demonstrations, pottery auctions, and window displays of pottery pieces.
In collaboration with the Collectors of Illinois Pottery and Stoneware Club, the Monmouth Chamber of Commerce organizes Pottery on the Square each June. The event is an opportunity for residents and visitors to learn about vintage pottery. The Chamber releases a new pottery piece every year that corresponds with Pottery on the Square.
A local favorite is the pottery and stoneware swap, which gives local potters a chance to trade their creations with others. There is also an opportunity to purchase a handcrafted, limited-edition piece.
Come and learn about vintage pottery, get appraisals, and even purchase a treasure to take home with you.
