The 40th annual Knox-Rootabaga Jazz Festival, taking place April 14-18, 2020, is a five-day event that partners Knox College, the Galesburg community, and local artists and musicians. The festival has been a part of the Knox Department of Music for 40 years and boasts performances by the Knox Jazz Ensemble, faculty, alumni, and guest artists. The festival focuses on collaborations between guest artists and students, and performances in various venues around the community: local bars, schools, and libraries.
The 2020 Knox-Rootabaga Jazz Festival features Matt Wilson with special guests Tia Fuller, Ben Allison, Dawn Clement and Jeff Lederer, along with the Knox Alumni Big Band, the Galesburg High School Jazz Band, Faculty and Friends Combo, and the Knox Jazz Ensemble
