Celebrate the 4th of July at Shabbona's Hometown Festival. The festival includes a pancake breakfast, a run/walk (http://pokanokasrun.com/) through Lake Shabbona Stake Park, vendors, a parade, Petting Zoo, Rides, Games, Inflatables, pork chop dinner, fireworks (http://shabbonafireworks.com/) and so much more!
Cap off the day with fireworks over Lake Shabbona. On Wednesday, July 4th, please join us as we celebrate our Country’s birthday. Enjoy the spectacular sight of fireworks reflecting off of the glistening waters of Shabbona Lake. The reverberating sounds caused by exploding fireworks echoing off of the surrounding woods will send chills up your spine!
Shabbona Lake State Park is a 1,550-acre pristine park located on the South edge of Shabbona. Shabbona Lake is a 318-acre lake with 6 ¼ miles of shoreline, 20 miles SW of DeKalb. The Fireworks over the lake is sustained by public support from the attendees, in the form of a $10 per car donation, a $10 per campsite donation, and generous donations from businesses and residents of Shabbona.
