The Romantics formally became a band on Valentine's Day 1977. Bred on the mean streets of Detroit's East Side, they were inspired by the British punk invasion and the sincerity, irony, spontaneity and volume of their hometown rock scene. Forty years later, the band is known for having created some of the most influential and beloved rock and roll of all time, including the unforgettable hits "That's What I Like about You," "Talking in Your Sleep" and "One in a Million."
