Thrifty on Route 150
Cruise the highway; treat Mom to the sights and sounds of Henry County’s Thrifty on 150 from Route 6 in Coal Valley to Galesburg. It’s a day to shop for deals at the many antique, plant and yard sales. Make a stop in Alpha to visit the car show and the plant sale at Gazebo Park.
The Great River Tug Fest
This is the only tug-of-war across the mighty Mississippi River. On Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., barge traffic, pleasure boats and paddleboats yield the right of way to a 2,400 foot, 680 pound rope that stretches between LeClaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois. Eleven teams from each side are formed and the side with the most winning teams takes the Alabaster Eagle trophy for that year. Currently the score is tied 10 - 10. A family weekend event filled with carnival rides, live entertainment, a huge parade, scenic 5k run/walk, food, arts and craft vendors and one of the largest fireworks displays (friday night) in the two state area. John Deere Classic PGA Tour Event
This is the 42nd year for this official event on the PGA Tour. Monday and Tuesday are professional practice rounds with free admission all day. Wednesday is the Pro-am. Jars, Jewels, Jellyrolls - Bishop Hill Quilt Show
The annual quilt show is like a needle and thread as it, too, joins together family members and friends to create something memorable. This event continues to grow and over 100 quilts and quilted pieces are entered in this judged show at the Colony School. Be sure to visit the Village Smithy and VagnHall Galleri to see additional quilts on display.

Antique Engine & Tractor Association Working Farm Show
Visit the 50-acre showground and experience the fall harvest early 1900’s style. Event features the historical value of collection and exhibition of gasoline and steam tractors, power driven farm machinery and other equipment through field demonstrations, displays of gas engines, garden tractors, farm tractors and equipment. Tractor pulls, craft demonstrations, speakers, children activities and music are featured daily. Food is available and parking is free. .
Maple City Fine Art Exhibition
Area artists display their artwork at the Geneseo Art League and the Cellar Restaurant and compete for top honors during this exhibit.
Cambridge Fest & Auto Show
If you enjoy classic cars and trucks in a historic downtown setting, please join us for the annual Cambridge Main Street Fest & Auto Show in Cambridge. Over 150 cars, trucks and motorcycles will be on display. The day offers live entertainment, tours of the Historical Heritage Village, a bake sale, N & G Scale train display, food and craft vendors, along with many other activities. The evening ends with a street dance.
Colona Freedom Celebration
Annual celebration at the Hennepin Canal Parkway featuring a breakfast, the Hennepin Hustle 5kRun/Walk, fishing derby for children 5- 15 years, car show, horseshoe and co-ed softball tournaments and lots of food. Visit for the day and stay for the grand finale fireworks show at dusk.
