Autumn Pioneer Festival
Travel back to the 1800’s and learn about the lifestyles and crafts of the day. Watch a blacksmith working at his forge, talk to voyageurs, settlers and buckskinners. Explore a wigwam in the Native American area, visit two authentic 1800’s log cabins, a one room schoolhouse and 5 ethnic gardens. Enjoy the sights as you tour the grounds on a horse drawn wagon. Learn to throw a tomahawk, use a cross cut saw and play old time games. Listen to live music throughout the day. Sample apple butter and bean soup cooked over an open fire. Food vendor offerings include prairie chicken, pioneer fries, buffalo stew, pie and ice cream, doughnuts, popcorn, old fashioned root beer and lemonade. These are just a few of the many fun activities offered at the festival.
Paddock Hills Equestrian Center
Imagine a golden ball of Midwestern sun breaking on the horizon. As the night dew still clings to the vines and the grass in the pastures, a farm comes to life with the sights and sounds of morning. 23rd Annual Civil War Days
Make plans to attend Northern Illinois' largest Civil War reenactment. The Lake County Discovery Museum is proud to present the 23rd annual Civil War Days encampment. The event features infantry, cavalry and artillery reenactors, as well as musicians, sutlers, medical personnel and civilians. Boone County Fair

Farm Heritage Festival
This two-day event celebrates farm life from the turn of the century to the present. Entertainment includes Border Collie sheep herding, wagon and barrel train rides, rope and scarecrow making, a tractor and antique vehicle parade, live music, quilting and heritage crafts, and a large model train display.
Belvidere Mopar Happening
Illinois' best car club show! Family-friendly activities include the car show, a swap meet and car sale corral. Car display and swap meet Saturday; car-show and swap Sunday. Enjoy music all weekend with food vendors to fill you up. Held at the Boone County Fairgrounds.

Woodstock Mozart Festival
Held on three consecutive weekends in July and August at the Woodstock Opera House, Woodstock Illinois, the Festival presents concert performances under the banner ”Mozart…and More!”…Mozart and other composers. International Bog Day
The day will feature live storytelling and activities both indoors and out. Enjoy the Bogs in Art Art Show, kid's crafts, Bog tours, listening to Bog stories, and bog cookies. Also visit with Norwegian Elkhounds, AKA Bog Dogs - if it is not too hot.
Ladies Attire of the Civil War Revisited Exhibit
For a short time, the Lakes Region Historical Society will host an exhibit featuring ladies of the Civil War at the Meeting House. There will be original Civil War gowns and accessories.
