Whiteside County Barn Tour
The 2015 Whiteside County Barn tour will feature nine farms with twelve barns in the Morrison. The tour starts at the historic round barn located on the Whiteside County Fairgrounds, 201 West Winfield Street, Morrison. The route is a compact 26 miles. Along the way, you will see unique barns, livestock and other surprises. Tour goers will also have the opportunity to visit and learn about the work of WHOA - White Oaks Therapeutic Equestrian Center - offering equine assisted activities to individuals with special needs. Hooppole Fun Days
Every kid walks away a winner in this pre-fourth of July celebration. Family floats, antique tractors, children’s games: ring toss, select a sucker and a frog/toad jumping contest (bring your own) are just a few to mention. Visit and enjoy local organizations home cooked delicacies and buy a pie. Fireworks at dusk are sure to please. Activities begin at 10 am.
Gardenstock Art & Music Festival
Get ready to rock your heart out with the 7th annual Gardenstock Art and Music Festival benefiting the Sinnissippi Center’s Gardening Program. Bring a chair and cooler or sample scrumptious offerings from local drink and food vendors. Make yourself at home while you listen to bands ranging from folk, to bluegrass, and rock. Wander the art festival grounds and check out the best in local creativity. A nominal donation at the gate gets you in for the day.
Rock Fall Summer Splash
Rock Falls Summer Splash takes place along the riverfront and admission is free. Amboy Wildlife Marsh Wildlife Santuary Tour - Diverse Habitats
Join the Illinois Audubon Society to enjoy a day at Amboy Wildlife Marsh & Sanctuary. Cost is $10 which includes snacks & water and an optional lunch can be purchased for $6. Learn about the unique habitats that make this sanctuary an absolute jewel which includes wetlands, black oak savannas, sedge meadows and dry sand prairies.
