2014 Illinois Paddlesports Festival
The 6th Annual Illinois Paddlesports Festival takes place on the 2nd weekend in June, in Aurora’s beautiful Phillips Park on Mastodon Lake. Admission is free. So come on out and enjoy two full days of paddling fun and action.

Based on the experiences of creator Jonathan Larson – and loosely based on the opera La Boheme – Rent immerses you in the lives of 8 young artists and musicians living in the Lower East Side of the Bohemian Alphabet City. From a poet and a musician to a lawyer and a drag queen, their lives are intertwined as they fight to survive in the Big Apple and, in some cases, fight for their mortality from HIV. In the end, it’s friendship, love and the ability to maintain their individuality that keeps these souls together.
The toys, comics, statues convention will be held twice this year, on Saturday May 31 and November 8th at the Orland Park Civic Center. Adults are $3 while children are $1. Tuneful, clever and uproarious, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee follows the story of six overachieving and quirky adolescents pitted against each other in the spelling challenge of a lifetime. To raise the comical bar, four audience members get the opportunity to participate in this quirky musical as onstage bee contestants. Through the ups and downs of the bee, the youngsters are forced to learn that winning isn't everything and losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.

The Game's Afoot

Warrenville Holly Days
Holly Days, sponsored by the Warrenville Park District is the City's annual holiday celebration that marks Santa's official entry into Warrenville. Guests can enjoy a warm bonfire, raffles, free horse and carriage rides, hot cider and cookies, and, of course, a visit with Santa. Local Park District and school dance troops, singers, and bands entertain attendees during the event. It is at this event that Warrenville officially turns on its holiday lights creating an array of colors for passersby along Route 56 to see. Holly Days, primarily for Warrenville residents, gives the community an opportunity to come together and kick off the holiday season.
