2016 Harvest of Quilts and Textile Art Show
The DeKalb County Quilter's Guild invites you to our biennial quilt show, October 1-2, 2016. Enjoy this year's expanding our offerings to other textile and fiber arts, such as weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, wearable art and more. The featured artist will be Lorraine Torrence, who makes wearable art and quilts, and will be presenting three lectures, "Design Principles for Quilters," "Finding Your Voice," and "Creative Clothing for Everybody." In addition to 300+ quilts on display, there will be exhibits in other disciplines and special exhibits including the Hoffman Challenge and a trunk show by SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates.) There will be demonstrations, workshops, lectures, and a vendors mall with new and longtime favorites. Food will also be available to purchase.

International Day of Yoga (or Yoga Day) is a celebration of health and fitness. Participants will practice yoga and meditation. This event's purpose is to spread awareness about yoga and how to adopt it in one's lifestyle. This event is under the umbrella of the Consulate General of India - Chicago.

45th Annual Northern Illinois Art Show
The Kishwaukee Valley Art League is proud to bring its annual Northern Illinois Art Show to the public. Held each spring in Sycamore, Illinois on the Dekalb County Courthouse lawn. The Northern Illinois Art Show features the work of artists in fine arts and fine crafts from across the Midwest. This show is an outstanding opportunity for fine artists to reach a wide audience and a great place for shoppers to find unique gifts. Easily accessible and highly publicized, the Northern Illinois Art Show attracts artists, residents, and tourists from across Northern Illinois and beyond. A League of Their Own - Illinois Railway Museum
This comedy follows the formation of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League during the 1940s, at the start of World War II. All of the movie's scenes on the train and at the railroad depot were shot at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, home to more than 250 restored electric, steam and diesel trains. The Nebraska Zephyr passenger train seen in the film is part of the museum's permanent collection.

A national air tour of historic WWII aircraft is coming to Sugar Grove! Take a tour or ride in a B-29 Superfortress FIFI, P-51 Mustang Gunfighter, C-45 Expeditor Bucket of Bolts, T-6 Texan, or Boeing Stearman. Aircraft tours will be available starting at 9:00 am. Supporting aircraft will be available for rides all day. Adults: $10. Youth (10-17): $5. Children age 10 and under are free.
