Burpee Museum of Natural History - National Fossil Day
Come to Burpee Museum and participate in National Fossil Day where you can have your own fossils identified, see the unique fossils of Rockford and explore the museum, including getting up close to recent finds of fossil dinosaur bones from Montana and Utah. Special Program at 1:00: Mahlburg Scholars Lecture with Charles Shabica, Ph.D, P.G. “The Wonders of Illinois’ Mazon Creek Fossils” Dr. Shabica is Professor Emeritus of Northeastern University, Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University and President and Founder of Shabica and Associates.
Discovery Center Museum - Mornings of Fun for Everyone
We invite children with disabilities and their immediate families to experience Discovery Center's multi-sensory exhibits and activities free of charge before the museum opens to the general public. A healthy snack will be served at 10:00am and families are welcome to stay and play after the museum opens to the public. Advanced registration is required to receive free admission.
