Come to the Bos Brothers Historical Farm and experience harvesting 10 acres of wheat using equipment from the early 1900's through the 1960's. Show hours are 8 am-5 pm Friday and Saturday and 8 am-3 pm Sunday.
The Bos Brothers Old Fashioned Threshing Bee will be held July 30 through Aug 1st on their farm in rural Erie, Illinois. Parking and admission are free and there will be Food and Modern Restrooms available on the grounds.Check out the operating displays including rock crushing, hay press, shingle mill, saw mill and other equipment powered by steam engine and early day gas and kerosene tractor.
Stay and see how the stubble would have been plowed, worked down and seeded using equipment from the same era.Take time to watch demonstrations of early farm life including rug weaving, flour milling, blacksmithing, bread baking, wood turning, throwing pottery and more. You can also attend church service Sunday morning at 10:30 am on the grounds. The tractors and engines at our show are not just smoking and standing -- They are moving, plowing, hauling, or operating machinery on the grounds!
