Join experienced Fox Valley birder and wildlife artist Christopher Cudworth for bird finding and bird facts, including their lives and significance in the ecological landscape. Using a mobile app, Chris can help guests learn to identify even confusing birds; one never knows what will turn up along the banks of the Fox River during fall migration! Guests could observe more than thirty species of birds in an hour’s time!
Bring binoculars for looking at birds close-up and Chris will provide a spotting scope for those “hard to see” birds out in the field or up in the trees. Waterproof footwear is recommended. Participants will be eligible for discounted admission to a separate guided tour.
Designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1945 and constructed in 1951, the Farnsworth House is a vital part of American iconography, an exemplary representation of both the International Style of architecture as well as the modern movement’s desire to juxtapose the sleek, streamline design of Modern structure with the organic environment of the surrounding nature.
