The Sky View Drive In opened in the spring of 1951 and has been in seasonal operation since. It is the last remaining original operating drive-in theatre on Route 66 in Illinois, is the oldest continuously operated drive-in on all of Route 66, and it is one of six remaining original Route 66 drive-in movie theaters. It is home to one of three roadside Route 66 exhibits.
